So, we already booked a trip to DW in September and we're just awaiting the free dining plan to become available. My boyfriend just told me that he could book a disney trip through AAA and get a discount. Has anyone else ever done this before?? It seems weird that you can book through AAA....i dunno...does anyone know what i'm talking about??

Yep, you can...that's what I booked my trip through. You get a room discount from them, but you need to make sure to book early. I booked through May (that's the person's name) and she was really good, I can PM you her extension.

We used AAA last visit and saved the 10% on the room. I don't think I'd do it again if there is another deal out there. Once you book through AAA, all changes to your reservations must be made via your AAA agent. And last time, SOMEHOW part of our party (we were a group of 8) were booked at the wrong resort! (POR instead of POFQ). WE tried to change it, but coulldn't without our agent. :brick::brick:

i'm actually paying for my parents to go with us this year, and he said AAA could save us around $200. and when you're broke, that's a lot of money! :) we were wanting to go to mickey's not so scary halloween party so we could use that money towards the party and not go over our budget.....

In 2006, we booked our vacation through AAA. We could NOT take both the AAA discount AND the free dining. We took the free dining as that saved us about $600, and the AAA discount only saved $200. Disney only will allow one discount at a time.

We also used it for this year's trip, and I think we saved about $250 at the Poly.

This is why I only did a Room Only Reservation through Disney..All I had to do is call back the reservation line and then find out when the AAA Discount began and then I got it deducted out of my balance..I was very pleased to hear what I owed after that.

Our May trip is through AAA, did get the 10% discount, saving us close to $400 on 2 rooms.

If you have the AAA discount, you cannot get any other discounts from Disney, though...they were offering the ticket upgrade to a free Water Parks & more deal but we had to pay for our upgrade cuz we had the AAA discount. (The AAA discount was worth more $ than the upgrade on tickets)

You just have to do the math, like the PP showed...sometimes the AAA discount saves more, some times another discount saves more.

We did the AAA discount for our honeymoon. Since we're only staying 3 nights, we weren't doing a big dining plan, so we didn't care about not being able to get any other discounts.

You just have to pick & choose which discounts will save you the most.

Yup, that is an option. AAA has discounts on tons of stuff not related to automobiles. (Discounts on vacations and online at stores like Target!)

I didn't book through them (using KK) but still used my AAA discount, so that's an option.

I book with my AAA travel agent in Evansville, Indiana. I saved $200 when I booked with AAA, versus calling Disney and requesting the AAA discount. [French Quarter] This is the offer of the free upgrade of basic tickets to parkhopper and water parks. So we are comparing apples to apples here. And hey, $200 is more money for us to spend at the parks.

I think you just need to compare the quotes you get from AAA and through Disney on packages and/or room only quotes plus tickets from somewhere like Undercover Tourist. If AAA doesn't offer a package with free dining, then see what they do offer and do the math for your own piece of mind.

Hi Jenn, I can explain. A room only reservation can have a AAA discount and it doesnt matter if you book thru Disney, Kingdom Konsultants, or AAA. A package offer ( room and tickets) must be booked thru AAA for the discount to be applied. If there is another discount offered by Disney at the same time as your trip, you can either apply the AAA discount or the discount offered by Disney, They cannot be combined. The advantage to the AAA discounts is that they are announced all at one time for a given year, The offers thru Disney are announced one at a time through out the year. The Disney offers are usually better, but as others have posted, you need to do the math and find out which is better for you!!! Hope this helps!! Belle
