I have satelite radio and listen to it all the time as well as my CDs of park music. Do you think they would ever get a Disney station on either XM or Sirius that would only play disney music from the parks and movies? I know they have radio Disney but thats not what I mean. Anyone think that would work? I think plenty of people would listen.
If either company got that kind of channel (which is doubtful- it wouldn't have QUITE as big a draw as you would think), it would probably be XM. They already have the permission to play Radio Disney.
Here's an amusing little fact about XM- Their first two satellites were named "Rock" and "Roll." The DJs on squiZZ joke around that the next two should be named "S*x" and "Drugs". But in reality, they're "Rhythm" and "Blues". I don't know what the 5th satellite is going to be called yet.
Their traffic channels are a GODSEND when you're traveling- even within the Orlando area. I thought I was going to be late to work one day when I was coming from the mall (the one you have to go on I-4 to get to), and turned on the traffic channel...yay for that! I wasn't late!
As other people have mentioned, they have terrestrial signals in the big cities. Like, in Washington, DC (my home metro area and XM's home base), they have terrestrial signal, so even if you're going in the tunnel under the Capitol, you still have signal.
Sirius also has a smaller play list (in general), and tries to break up their channels to look like they have more than they really do. XM has over 5 million customers, and this quarter will be the first that their sales are lower than Sirius's. The reason for that is because of Howard Stern. Sirius has a total of around 2.5-3 million customers.
XM also has licensing to broadcast for baseball, hockey, and college football. Sirius has pro football...and that's about it.
Also, a lot more cars are coming with XM ready radios. Just transfer or buy a subscription, and you're ready to go. Here's the website to see what companies (and models) have xm-ready stereos:

One thing you might want to be aware of when you're listening to XM on the internet- there are channels online that you can't get in the receiver, and channels on the receiver you can't get online. My biggest upset is that Radio Disney and the old-time radio shows can't be broadcast online.
