Anyone have any experience with the Halloween Parties this year at WDW?

Just trying to get an idea of how they stacked up to the past parties... This year we did the one at Disneyland and it was so overcrowded that we vowed we wouldn't do it again... Had been to ones in WDW in the past and even when they were sold out they weren't horrible... Wanted to know if they have increased the number of tickets they are selling to these things or if WDW is just better done than Disneyland.

Yup. We visited the MNSSHP on October, 5th, our first Halloween Party at the MK btw.

We were there from the official start until closing at midnight and it was never even slightly overcrowded. Wait time for trick and treat locations was less than a minute normally, the same at the trick and treat trails. It was no problem to get a good location to watch the Boo-to-you-parade and the "Villains mixing" (very weak performance btw) in front of the castle was at least after 11.00 not even remotely crowded. Many attractions were either walk-ons or less that 5 minutes waits (there are of course exceptions like PPF). Of course that was nearly a month from Halloween, I don't know how it is if it is actually Halloween or Halloween is only a few days away.

We went on 10-23-12. Got in the park at 4:00 with our costumes on and the park was not very busy. After 7:00 the place was packed and you couldn't hardly walk with all the people. Frontierland was the worst as far as the crowd goes. We had fun though, getting to dress up and all. We went last year too, but it rained so this year was better with no rain.

Thanks for the info... it sounds like Disney has probably increased the number of tickets they are selling. Several years ago we did one in WDW that was sold out and it still wasn't that crowded with the ability to pretty much get off a ride and go ride it again in less than 5 minutes of wait... Sadly the experience this year at DL was lines of more than an hour and crowds so heavy they actually had CMs trying to direct traffic.

We need time for things to happen.
We went to the 9-30-12 sunday night MNSSHP. Which at the time was the only one that was sold out (besides October 31st).

It was our first MNSSHP so I can't compare to other years.
Rides were all 'walk-ons' and even the most coveted characters (7 dwarfs) waits were only about 10-15minutes.
one caveat:
The weather wasn't perfect - not a complete washout - but raining on and off for about 2 hours, so I'm not sure if that chased some people away --Although I can't see how --- with the price of those tickets I think I would have walked barefoot across broken glass to get in there. ;)

We went on a Friday in September. And it wasn't too bad. We didn't get a chance to do as much as we wanted but got loads of candy and were able to do a lot.
