Anyone else who loves Adventureland most?

Frontierland and Adventureland vie very closely for me, but as long as Adventureland remains fountain-less and E-ticket-less, it's second in line.

When we went to Disney during the Pirates refurb we skipped Adventureland. I like JC and the atmosphere of the land, but we didn't feel the need to spend much time there on that particular trip. If there had been kids along with us I'm sure we would've though.

Adventureland at MK has so much potential since it really is HUGE compared to its Disneyland counterpart. The AL in Disneyland just feels more authentic with the theming, except for the fact that I do prefer the Swiss Family Tree over the cheesier Tarzan's Treehouse. Indiana Jones Adventure is an awesome ride and I wish they had brought it to Florida instead of turning it into Dinosaur at AK.

To me, the Magic Carpets are sort of an eye sore, and I think they ruined the Tiki Room.

I do love POTC and JC, so if they add a great new ride like Fire mountain, get rid of the magic carpets and bring back the original Tiki Room, Adventureland would become my favorite land in MK!

My favorite MK lands in order are
1. Frontierland
2. Tomorrowland
3. Adventureland
4. Fantasyland
5. Liberty Square
6. Main Street
7. Toontown

Exactly what I think, down to the last detail.
Magic Carpets are not only looking cheap and completely out of area, the additional arabian design of the buildungs there is just stylistic overkill, you cannot put african colonial, polynesian AND arabian architecture around the same square. And since they build the carpets the place is far to small, that is not compensated by the kinetics of carpets, which are wrong there anyway.
I am sure the imagineers of Walts generation wouldn't have done such a mistake.

My wife and I just returned from a trip to WDW. While I love the ambiance in Adventureland, it does need a bit of freshening up, especially the Jungle Cruise. It's fairly disappointing to see the place that basically invented animatronics with such outdated and stale displays. It's not unique to the Jungle Cruise either; I found myself being a bit let-down by many of the animatronics throughout the older rides in all of the parks.

And what the heck has happened to the Country Bear Jamboree? Talk about your childhood memories being upended.

Ok, so I saw a list of things that one person suggested that Disney could add to Adventureland. Peter Pan? Aladdin? They have rides for those movies. Check them out sometimes. Magic Carpets isn't needed, I mean it's the same thing as dumbo. No real need for it. But kids like it, so who cares. Adventureland is one of my favorite places, and could use some updating. But it doesn't need anything that drastic. I think they could easily add a Jungle Book theme to Jungle Cruise, that could help freshen it up a bit, without really changing it drastically. Tiki Room could use a little work. I didn't mind the "under new management" change to it. If you don't remember, before they did that, Tiki Room was dying. No one went to that show. There is reasons for them changing attractions. Right now, Adventureland is not their concern, so be patient. Their concern is the millions and millions of dollars being spent on the FLE. After that, then they would look at possibly updating Adventureland

I agree!

Some of my favorite must do's are in Adventureland; POTC, Jungle Cruise, Dole Whips, shakin' my butt when I walk of the bridge to the beat of the drums, the Tiki Room... so much good stuff in A-Land!!!

I really like Adventure Land, Pirates is at least in my top 3 attractions, but I don't know if we will ever see too much change in the land. Looking at the Google satellite image, there just doesn't appear to be too much room to grow without closing one of the attractions, and I don't see them ever closing Pirates or Jungle Cruise, which take up the most space, and if they did do away with Swiss Family Treehouse or ETR, there's not much space in that area either. The only option I really see is to go the Space Mountain route and grow outside the park, but that would require moving much of the backstage area, which I don't know if they would want to do.

Adventureland always holds a special place with me. It has a different atmosphere than the other lands. I always feel truly away and on vacation and very relaxed and isolated there.

I love crossing the bridge with the Crystal Plaza on the left and love the music as you see the sign and enter Adventureland.

It's a fun place to relax before tackling the major attractions in Frontierland.

I remember Tiki Room having attendance problems with the old show, but is it doing well now? I don't see this show often since it's so awful under its "new management," but I went last month on a crowded day and there was no line, and the people in the show didn't seem to enjoy it at all. 3 people even walked out right in the middle.

I've watched the DL (original) version within the past year, and while the show feels a bit outdated, it's 10x better than "under new management."

I suggest they bring back the original tiki room show (original soundtrack but severely tweaked effects). They can market the return of "the original tiki room" and receive at least a temporary boost in attendance for people who want to see an attraction that Walt imagined and designed. Probably will never happen though, because they likely wouldn't find the cost of such a renovation to be justified. I'm sure many Disney purists would appreciate it though, since not everyone can make it out to Cali to see the original in all its nostalgic glory.

Oh I agree. Yeah, its dead now. But they changed it before because of this same reason. People say they were mad they changed it, well they can't keep an attraction that gets no attendance. I'm sure Disney knows about Tiki Room getting no guests, they will address the situation in due time. I can't see them taking it away, but they will go back to the first show and have it a little updated (like you said). No one knows, only Disney does

Jungle Cruise and PotC are no E-tickets to you?

I should have specified I wanted to see an E-ticket thrill ride (like Indiana Jones) in Adventureland to balance out the fairy-land they're building to its northeast.

I consider Pirates the epitome of an E-Ticket, though the WDW one is on the lower end of the spectrum due to its length. Jungle Cruise, though I'm sure most would disagree, to me is a solid D-ticket. It's one of my favorite rides, though I don't consider it to have the same scope of, let's say, Temple of the Forbidden Eye or Splash Mountain.

Erm..wrong. I don't want to say it's name because some people would say "don't mention it AGAIN" but there where very elaborated plans for a major E-Ticket morphing rollercoaster named .... Mountain in Adventureland that would have been built outside the berm and would have been accessed through the gap between PotC and JC. I have to confess, there is NO planned attraction for the World existing that I wish more to be finally built than this one because it combines several elements I love, Polynesian theming, volcano etc. "No place left" is NOT an excuse for not expanding Adventureland because it would have been really huge and was nearly ready for official anouncement when...yes when IOA completely failed to have any impact on the Worlds visitors attendance.

Did not know that. Walt would freak out about that if he were alive. Money is the last thing he cared about. He just wanted to make the parks better and better............all the time
