Anyone else want a "CASH ONLY" lane at Quick Service?

I clearly don't get why DDP is making you upset. As somebody posted earlier -- it sounds like unready people are what is upsetting you. Maybe there are more DDP guests now and you have been stuck behind a few, but I've seen delays for any kind of payments you could possibly think of. Should guests that pay cash get shorter lines in the shops too? How about guest using Kodak film. Should they get shorter lines for characters? Sounds like you would be making more problems than solving. If DDP brings in more money and makes a family of for spend $100 on food EVERY DAY -- Disney wins. They are much happier doing this and making them spend more than the $50 they would have spend --- and keeping those people out of "your" CS line for one meal a day too.

Jimbo makes a good point. The overall effect of the DDP may be lower waiting times at CS (and at attractions), because the DDPers go to so many TS meals.

/sigh

I never said it was "my" CS line - you are really misinterpeting what I said.

Jimbo, the DDP isn't making me upset. I don't think you read all of my postings in this thread. Please don't try to paint me as a DDP hater, I am not. I have used it in the past and probably will again in the future. Your rant really doesn't apply to anything I am saying (lines for characters? please...).

The involvement of the Dining Plan in this, as I and others have noted, and 1) the confusion many people on the plan seem to have over what is included which takes extra time to order, and 2) the computer issues that seem to come up so often for people.

I am not "upset" at the dining plan, just noting that I have NONE of these problems when I pay with cash, and when it seems that the majority of people standing in line are on the DDP, the minority of us could use a single lane where we can do our quick cash transactions as well.

You are missing the whole point here, and making arguments against things I did not say nor suggest. You are correct, as I have fully stated as this thread has gone on, it does seem to be unprepared people in general, but the DDP is a factor here because it makes things MORE complicated for people that don't seem to be able to handle it in the first place.

This isn't a DDE hate thread, and don't try to paint it as such please. :)

Looks like I wasn't far off...MiceAge is reporting that both Cosmic Ray's and Village Haus have started experimenting with CASH ONLY lines. :)

YAY!

The best solution(s)? Allow the CMs to give customers unsure about what to order a notepad & a pencil, and politely say "Sir/ma'am, why don't you make sure you know exactly what you need to order for your party, I'll take the order of the person behind you & as soon as you know what you need, your order will be the next one I take." With the few exceptions of truly crazy people, I can't imagine the current customer being upset by given an extra minute to get the order straight, and other customers potentially order sooner.

At the food courts at the hotel, I feel like I am the unlucky person that picks the 'short' line and then gets stuck behind someone trying to persuade the CM to let them exchange on thing for another on the DDP. I am not a DDP-er, so I would like a cash lane, as I almost always use cash when I go to the world.

Or, instead of Cash only, how about a couple lanes for Disney Dining Plan members only? :)

Problem is, there are so many people on the plan these days they'd need to dedicate 3/4 of the line to them, LOL.

I like the cash only lane because it means no DDP and no credit cards. That means no computer hangups/waits/etc. Enter order, take cash, move on.
