Anyone else going to miss Tarzan Rocks!

I video taped the last show on the last night. It was a big celebration....taped allot of tears in the castmembers eyes. Guests were hugging the cast and crew,...it was standing room only.

Even "Matt?" made jokes and asked the audience to say his lines...half the guests knew his lines too! ( he made a comment that he never changed his script for all those years)

Maybe I can make a .wmv file fo you. I gotta find that tape first!

Cliff, if you could do it, that would be fantastic. If you need any info from me (email or whatever), just PM me.

P.S. -- Sorry for hijacking this thread, everybody.

I miss it too!

This show brought some funky rock (which I love all the songs and can probably sing them all by heart), energetic rollerbladers (which my son loved watching) and audience participation. :sohappy: (slap slap, clap clap) :sohappy:

The monkeys were actually very friendly with the kids and I know that my son's eyes were wide open watching all the stunts and tricks the bladers were doing. I recommended this show to everyone who visited WDW.

I hope Nemo is "as good" as the Tarzan Rocks show. I have to admit, when Disney closed the show :)hammer: uh, senior moment here :brick:) and put Mickey's Philharmagic in at MK, I was a little skeptical but I love that show more than I loved the previous show (I'm a big Lion King fan too).:animwink: Oh let's just get real here, Disney always has wonderful shows and I shouldn't be worried about a "Nemo" show, right? :hammer:

Doesn't mean that I still won't miss Tarzan Rocks! (And yes, Tarzan did have a nice physique but not all of us "ladies" go to have thoughts about him, well, not during the whole performance )

I really liked the show and yes I will miss it but things have to progress, I liked the Jungle Book show that was there before too

I'm looking forward to something new. I do love shows, but am not a big fan of Nemo, so I would have preferred something else. I'll reserve judgement 'til I see it.

I'm sitting here watching Tarzan with my son. I love the music. Anyway, I got a pit in my stomach because I realized I'm not going to be seeing Tarzan Rocks! on my next trip (September.) Anyone else going to miss it?

WE did all enjoy this - especially the funky music with Turk. But it is always nice to see something new.
I cant imagine Nemo will have music in it - cant remember any in film!?

I liked Tarzan but didn't love it. So I'm indifferent to its departure. And I'm sure the Nemo show will be a hit. My problem is its location: between Dinoland and Asia. What's the connection? Tarzan, by theme, seemed to fit AK better than Nemo. Sure, Nemo and company are animals but they would've been better near The Living Seas, IMO. Epcot's in need of a show or two, especially Futureworld and there's space between the Land and TLS. Or they could've turned the TL stage into the Nemo Show and really make TL Pixarland. :hurl: But the current location stinks. And I'm sure, with all the construction going on, the Nemo show will be there for a long, long time.

Tarzan Rocks? Give me a break. All it is is a bunch of idiots riding around you in stupid roller skates! It's like Starlight Express in the jungle! I hated it!

P.S. Did anyone else find it so irritading because of how the music from the show is so loud it can be heard from the whole park? It really ruins the quiet atmosphere of Animal Kingdom ( Finding Nemo probably will too :brick: bad location for a theatre)

My understanding is that the theatre is being enclosed as they did with Lion King. I loved Tarzan Rocks. My husband hated it. Don't think Nemo will compare at all.

Reminds me of cantaloupe, which I like so much that I can't believe everyone doesn't love it like I do. What's not to like about cantaloupe??

I can't believe everyone didn't love Tarzan Rocks. It was one of my very favorite things! I was fascinated by the energy, the creativity, the skating - wow! I was so surprised to hear it was closing but even more surprised to find out that my WDWMAGIC compadres were by and large just fine with that.

I think I'll just have to go have some cantaloupe.

Me and my family loved Tarzan Rocks! yeah it's partically just all songs with some XTREME SKILLZ going on inbetween but I actually kinda liked it. I think it mostly depends on if you liked the soundtrack originally and if you've been to a proper concert before.

Last October we thought it was gonna be closed when we went, it was due to close the day before we arrived I think. But we caught a showing and decided to record it on tape ^_^ so now we have it to view again and again if we want :sohappy:

its about time someone started a thread about it!!!!
i really do miss it.
It's a topic that has had many threads which pretty much follow the same pattern as this one - some people like it and others take great pleasure in slagging it off.

I have to agree with yeti! (Starlight Express in the jungle)!

Tarzan was rubbish (garbage), I hated it!
My little girl 11 loved it, but obviously she has on taste!
Nemo can't be any worse.

Seriously, I was not impressed with Tarzan.

I never had anythimng against Phil Collins until Tarzan Rocks! (I did, in public, refer to it as Tarzan: Sucks!)

It was loud, to a point of being distorted. That alone bothered me, but I could cope. I never had the really good singers, and lord knows my best friend dragged me there a lot. She was the queen fan of all Disney "shows" and dragged me to all of them. The only one I ever really liked was Hunchback and I am bummed that was closed.

Back to Tarzan, I'm a big fan of pagentry rather than stunts for stunts sake, and I felt that was an area Tarzan lacked. The roller blade stunts jsut didn't seem to work as an artistic part of the show. Oh, and I hate Turk. My least favorite character ever.

"Shooby-doop shooby-dup, die you stupid ape, doot-doot-dah-dah! Doo-wap zee-doo!"

*shivers*

Anywho.. high hopes for Nemo. I did find the song from the press conference to be very endearing, and I've sat through lots of preproduction sing-throughs for musicals in my life. They'll get it cleaned up long before the show opens, and it'll be killer.
