Anyone done the Epcot Segway tour?

We (just DH & I) are heading to the world in July for DH's 40th birthday. We want to do something we've never done, and I was wondering if the Around the World Tour at Epcot is worth the money. Please weigh in if you've done it, or if you have any other suggestions.

I think this looks like lots of fun! I've done a segway tour in Chicago, and that was part fun and part terrifying - going up and down stairs and weaving between cars and trying to avoid pedestrians! I would so much rather do it in the controlled environment of Epcot! The segways are a lot of fun, and how cool would it be to see world showcase without the normal crowd there?

We have done the Epcot Segway tour twice and the one at Fort Wilderness once. They are both well worth the money and tons of fun. I would have to say the one at Fort Wilderness was my favorite because it was on the heavy duty all terrain segways and you rode through the woods & in sand. But which ever one you choose you will not be disappointed....

My DH and I did this tour a couple of years ago, we did the early morning tour and it was a blast. Got to go into World Showcase before it was open and had the place to ourselves (and the rest of tour group) I would do it again in a heartbeat! Only problem was after using it we wished you could rent them for use in the parks!

My sister and I and our parents did this tour in 2008. It was fantastic! :sohappy:My dad who is in his 60's wasn't too sure at first, but then he had a great time too. We did the early morning one too. You're in the park before the others and you tour World Showcase before it's even open and you learn some trivia too. You pracitce inside innoventions and then they take you out. We would definitely do it again. In fact, next time we go we're going to try the one at wilderness.

I have done the EPCOT one twice, and will gladly do it a third time.

My advice. Take the earliest tour you can. You may not be able to take the earliest because of transportation issues. But the earlier they are, the less people are in the park. The later tours can have the WS open while you are finishing up.

I also enjoyed the Epcot tour. It was a great experience and I thought the cost was very reasonable. For the amount of fun and the experience of being in areas of the park where you can spend time just looking around with no other members of the public, I would happily pay a lot more than the asking price.

LOVED IT!!!!! Would totally do it again! If you happen to have a Disney Rewards Visa you also get a discount. For our last trip, it was my gift to my husband for our 15th Anniversary and we had a BLAST! :D They also have to longer tour now on the Off-road Segways. I think we'll try that next time.

We did the early tour. It was a little difficult to get up that early on vacation, but it was worth it. If it is the same, you learn the basics in innoventions for about an hour. They then take you out (make you stay in single file saying "ducks in a row".) You go over to the bathroom behind imagination, then on to the world showcase. In world showcase you go through some of the countries and they give you some trivia. They set a small boundry at the end and let you move around. The speed is set on low and you basically follow the leader so it is a good learning experience. It is also cool to be the only ones in WS.

Have fun!

Thanks so much to everyone for their help. We are definitely going to do it! We are staying at BC so transportation won't be a problem. Per the advice given, I'm going to try to book the earliest one.

You've already got quite a bit of positive feedback, but I'll throw in my 2 cents.

I can't recommend this tour enough. We did the World Showcase one (the FW one was not available then.) One of the best experiences I've ever had at WDW, hands down. But with a word of caution, do be aware that weather may impact your tour. There was a threat of rain before our tour and we almost didn't get to go out in WS. It's been over a year, so I can't remember the details (I think you might get a partial refund? but don't quote me on this.) Just be aware that it can happen, in case it does you won't be surprised. I always like to have all the info going into a situation so I can be prepared and not disappointed.

We didn't get the earliest tour (booked too late) but still enjoyed ourselves. It was sort of cool to drive back to Innovations and wave at all the guests coming into the park! Also be sure to take advantage of any discounts (we got one with Disney Visa.) You'll have a blast!
