Anyone Computer Smart???

Is anyone knowledgable about adware? Viewport Media Player keeps sending me this pop-up trying to get me to install it. I ran Norton and Ad-Aware and came up with nothing. Anyone know why this might keep happening?

Uninstall Viewpoint Media Player from "Add/Remove Programs" in the Windows Control Panel.

Add/Remove won't work on VMP:

Viewpoint Media Player. VMP is media viewing software that comes bundled with AOL, AIM, and several other programs. Because the consent to download Viewpoint Media Player is buried in user agreements, users are often surprised to see it show up on their PC. The program is particularly tricky to remove, because removing via add/remove programs only removes some of the related files, but also because AIM will attempt to reinstall Viewpoint Media Player if it has been deleted.

I searched for it and it appears that I don't have it. It just keeps telling me that I have an update waiting. Why can't Ad-Aware see it?

From what I have read is that Ad-Aware doesn't find this application. I read Spybot would clean it, but you would have to try to find out.

As Woody13 has stated, good old AOL, AIM has attempted to install this. Nice of them isn't it?

The site Woody13 or Tramp has mentioned should also clean up this mess AOL left.
