Anyone been to WDW for an extended trip?

Has anyone been to WDW on an extended trip (around two weeks) and stayed at an on site resort? I am going for 15 nights on my honeymoon.

I have never been for more than a couple nights and never stayed on the property. What pace should we go and what should our daily schedule look like to see everything (and most everything twice) and see fireworks at night, yet still enjoy and relax while we're there.

The most I have stayed on property was for almost 4 weeks at All-Star Movies. All I can say is that we spent a heck of alot on food while we were there. We also got really, really tan, too. We never did get bored, though. But we did venture out of WDW, that's for sure. We went shopping everywhere, went to the ocean and the gulf, went to St. Augustine and Tampa, went to every mall we could find, and spent alot of time in Wal-Mart.

Oh, and slow down, you will have plenty of time to see it all, don't rush, enjoy! Do go back for fireworks, too, and get a great tan, you and your hubby!!!

I've done ten days a couple of times. My brother spent three months there within a year, the longest stretch being a month. I figured he was selling plasma or something to pay for it. Never did figure that out.

Man, you guys got money trees growing in the backyard or something?!?!?!? Four weeks at Disney? I'd be in my glory, but heck I can just barely afford 4 days.

price

Well we're not going for four weeks but we're going for 15 nights and that's normally way out of our price range. However, it is our honeymoon HOWEVER, my fiance has a best friend that works for WDW in the main office and she got us at CBR for 50% off per night.

Well, the vast majority of Brits go for 2-3 weeks, its such a long way for a few nights. I have had 2, 2 week holidays in Orlando. Its not enough, especially when you want to venture out to IOA, US, SW etc.

Well I see why Brits would go for 2 weeks and not have enough time (because it's a big trip and everything is new).

However, I just can't see 2 weeks being "not enough" for us because we live in SW Florida literally 2 blocks from the beach and so we definately don't want to do the beach thing.

We get the Florida weather all year so that's nothing new
We go through Orlando often so there's not much outside of WDW that we care to do on this trip.

We plan on parking the car, and not using it until we leave. We'll do all of our grocery shopping before we go.

Congrats!
In my humble opinion, there is more to do in Florida besides Orlando and you could take advantage of your many nights there. For instance, try going for a day or two to Saint Augustine, and try spending a night there in one of those old houses that are small bed and breakfasts now. Trust me, you won´t be dissapointed. :animwink:

12 Nights

We stayed at the Poly for 12 nights in 2001. My children are older now so we decided to split one room 4 ways. We did the plan that we got 2 meals a day and that was WORTH IT!!!! Don't even go for any length of time without that plan!!! It cost us about 2500.00 each but I have to tell you what it included. We had two meals a day paid (including the tip), we got all the park passes, we had a rent a car and the plane fare. I thought it was dirt cheap for 12 nights!! The only out of pocket expense we had was souveignors! It's real nice going down there knowing everything is paid for in advance. I would never go any other way now. Last year in 2002 we went with family and did the same thing and stayed at the Poly because CBR was under construction. They thought it was so cheap for what they got. I'm telling you, try it, you think it's a lot but if you think about what you spend out of pocket, it's not bad. If you have kids it's even cheaper and if you stay at a cheaper hotel, it would even be cheaper. Check into, you'll love it!!!!:sohappy:

Yep - two weeks for us EVERY trip - we once added a third week across at St Petes (just to relax by the beach after running around WDW)

Must be nice.
I guess considering the frequency of my trips I probably have stayed there longer than that total across the whole year, but to stay for over a month would be like living there. I'm definitely jealous.

My wife and our 7 kids usually spend 2 weeks there every few years. We take days to just relax by the pool and enjoy the fact that we are at Disney as a family. We often times take in some of the things to do outside of the parks. It is a fun time being there for an extended visit. Go relax and enjoy yourself!:)
