Any un-magical moments happen to you?

actually...probably my most unmagical moment occured on my first day at work when i went backstage and saw Mickey's head on the ground and a girl in a Mickey suit screaming into a cell phone, telling her boyfriend off and smoking a cigarette.

Have I just ruined everything? I really don't want to ruin the magic for everyone...just do what I did, remind yourself that obviously some nut found a Mickey outfit somewhere and that the REAL Mickey would be very upset!

(*if this is going to really bother people...moderators...please feel free to delete it*)
I find it quite hilarious! Did I mention Grumpy is my favorite character? :ROFLOL:
We have always had great trips to WDW, all of them very magical no complaints. The last trip we just took this past April we had a run in with a foul mouthed older woman, who was obviously overheated and exhausted, try to pop my 1 1/2yr old daughter's balloon while we waited for Spectromagic to begin. We are very responsible balloon owners, we keep a " ring" of respect around our stroller (where the balloon was neatly tied so it wouldn't bump anyone) but it wasn't good enough for this woman. She had a hissy fit on it then took a pen out of her purse and tried to pop it. I kept my composure (it was difficult) and told her stop, then was told by her "to get that Fn balloon away from me NOW!" I told her not to stand there and she clenched her fists and belted out "I'll FN pop your FN balloon if you don't FN move out of my way!" It killed me not to take her pen and poke her eyeballs out with it because not only was my little girl was watching and listening but there were other children around doing the same! My Husband is so calm about these things and said "Tell ya what, give me the $10.00 I paid for the balloon and do what you want with it!" and was sort of shaking his head at her, then added "There is no need to be so upset, there are children around." Well that set her off again! The poison that poured from her rotten mouth just got worse, so I started looking for a CM or security to help flush her out, but there was enough of people around that everyone sort of got her to move on. (with her totally embarressed family that never said a word!) So, yeah, I'll never forget the balloon lady, oh the sunshine she must spread around must be lovely!
In all seriousness....If I had this happen or even personally seen this, even without knowing you, I would have been pretty vocal about it. It's amazing that something, such as a balloon, can keep a kid happy. Only time it may have "annoyed" me is if I was videotaping BUT I would have just mentioned the dilemma & made "adjustments". If it were my kid personally, I may have really flipped out......& I still would have flipped a bit for total strangers.

After reading the few Mears postings, I thought I would include mine.

So my friend and I were staying at Pop Century, going to WDW, and Universal for 2 seperate days. The first time we went a shuttle van drove right up the lobby, picked several of us up, and drove us directly to Universal Studios for a 15 minute drive, I was pleased w/ the service overall.

The SECOND day.. we were planning on getting there just after the parks opened, staying all day, and returning in the evening to do Animal Kingdom late extra magic hours, then to Downtown Disney after that. SO.. we get up nice and early and wait out at the lobby.. several vehicles come through but no Mears shuttle. A white unmarked bus had come and gone but nobody got on. We call Mears and they inform us they are low on vehicles and the white unmarked bus was actually the bus we needed. So now we must wait in our hotel room for another 45 minutes for the next one to show up. Not only was the bus unmarked but the driver never got out and announced who he was with or where he was going - we had no clue.

So we catch the next bus but for some reason today it's not going DIRECTLY to Universal.. it's making about 7 other resort stops and takes about 35 minutes to get to Universal - NOT worth the $15.00 for the day in my opinion.

So by the time we get to the park it's almost 11:30.. instead of being there before 9:00am. We stay until they close since we lost a few hours and SPRINT to the bus pick up at about 9:05pm thinking we'll miss our 9:15pm pick up. We wait in a group of approximately 25 people for 45 minutes.. an hour goes by. FINALLY, a bus shows up.. the driver says they're low on busses, she's never done this route, and this bus is taking ALL of us back to our hotels - which is about 11. So we spend the next hour and a half driving around the Disney complex going to every hotel imaginable. By the time we got back it was almost midnight and Disney Quest and a majority of Downtown Disney was no longer open.

Needless to say I saw Mears on a good day and on a terrible day. I wrote a letter and was refunded my $15.00 - whooptiedoo! It didn't make up for the hours of time lost and the rip off Universal express pass we had to get to make up for that lost time. It was the crappiest service I've ever seen!

Luckilly that was our only terrible day.

Thanks! It's amazing how such a little thing can make a child happy and an overheated adult insane!!! :p

I guess my most un-magical moment that was turned into a magical moment was years ago hubby and I purchased a 4 day hopper pass. We spent the morning at MK and had reservations at Crystal Palace for lunch. After lunch we decided to hop on over to DHS (fka MGM). Well we got off the bus and approached the entrance when hubby said "you have the tickets". I went searching and then said, "no, you put them in your wallet, remember..... " It was practically empty that day so we went and sat on one of benches and emptied everything out of pockets, wallets, and pocketbooks... NO TICKETS........... by this time I was balling..... I just wanted to go home. Not back to the hotel but home..... hubby says No, we are here and to he** with it. We will just buy more tickets and worry about it later..... so........ we went up to the ticket window and this very sweet young lady bounced up to the window and with her Disney voice said.......... welcome to Disney, how is your day??? Needless to say I burst into tears and the poor girl stood there dumbfounded. Hubby then explained to her what had happened and that we had 3 days left on our 4 day hopper tickets. She called over to MK for us to see if anyone had turned in some tickets (yea right!!!). Someone was hopping around on my money...LOL Well, for some strange reason, I had purchased the tickets at the Disney store here in Atlanta and had stuck the receipt in my wallet around Christmas time. Take note, this was in September, anyway, I pulled out my receipt which I had found during the search for the tickets and showed it to her. She called over a supervisor and within 5 minutes we had 2, 3 day hopper passes with no questions asked. :sohappy: I am still shocked that they gave us more tickets free. I guess they could tell on my face that we were not kidding about losing them. The only thing we can think of is either Pooh or Tigger lifted them from hubbys pockets.... or when hubby pulled out his wallet to buy a Mickey Bar they fell out unknowingly to us... Either way it turned out OK.......

There was a very un-magical moment that happened to a fellow cast member (I get teary eyed just thinking about it)...she was bringing the beer out to the ice cart at the Cdn Pavilion and twisted her ankle somehow and fell...sending the beer fizzing across the promenade.

We lost about 15 fine representatives of Canada that day and they will be remembered :cry::cry:
This has got the be the best one yet!!
