Any Star Tours news?

Just got back from a day trip to MGM, DAK, and MK. The attraction that cries for desperate need for some kind of update, in my opinion, is Star Tours. Any word that this attraction will get a new film or anything any time soon?

Is Star Tours too predictible for you also? I no longer feel that much of a thrill when riding it, though it is the best simulator I have been on. I love laughing at the other people's screams. However, i also hope for an update.

I rode Star Tours again for the first time in YEARS the other day. Boy.. that ride has not aged well at all. The simulator movements were very tame, and the whole experience was just... boring. It definitely seems something.

I think the StarWars theme could be kept, as well as the simulator style... but new, more advanced ride vehicle and a new video need to be made (the video, btw, should not be computer graphics but models, like the original, much better looking films!)

I feel that way as well. I can ride Mission Space and not have a problem, but if I ride Star Tours, Body Wars I get sick as a dog...:hurl:. What's the deal?

Hey is it just me..but check this out.

Shouldn't it be Body Tours, and Star Wars? They got them mixed up...

Me too, glad to know I'm not entirely alone in the universe. :D

I enjoyed Star Tours as much the 12th time I rode it as I did the 1st time I rode it.

I just watch the people that have never ridden it before.

This is still my favorite simulator ride.

I've enjoyed Star Tours ever since I first rode it at Disneyland back in 1989 (wow... 15 years ago this summer!). I was totally psyched when they brought it to Florida. Sure the movie is a bit dated, but it's still fun. I always sit in the front row when I can (I like feeling the dips, rollercoaster buff that I am) and I always get giggy like a teenager when the Death Star trench scene comes up.

A new movie would be fun though, but it looks like it all depends on Uncle George.

As someone wrote earlier, it's the best simulator ride. It's head and shoulders above Body Wars. A new film would be nice. It's been rumored for so long, that I'll believe when I see it.

To all the new people on the boards I say to you Welcome. About the Star Tours I stuck between both sides. Star Tours has been one of my favorite attractions. I have ridden on each row and the back is the best by far. Even though I know everything that happens I still enjoy riding. It brings back memories when I was a child, the things I did with my friends and family while waiting in the line. But I also think that it could use a new plot, screen and visuals. Perhaps multiple adventures, each thrilling but diverse. I mean Star Tours reach across the galaxy. There has to be more than just Endor. So in that thought there might be some hope.

I hope that they do a different story, while still sticking in the original Star Wars. I'm sorry, but the new ones are sort of bad. Does it make sense to anyone how the ships look more advanced as they go backwards in time?

The third Star Wars sounds like the best and most promising, but I think that with all this build up and excitement about it, it may just be a flop.

Star TOurs the ride has been my favorite simulator of all time. The only thing that even came close to it was Spiderman at Islands of Adventure, even though that's a 3D Roller Coaster. And maybe Spongebob at king's dominion, but Star Tours is definitely the best one. BTW, where is body wars? I've never ridden it. But I've always heard of it.

My only worry about an update to Star Tours is that it won't be as good as the one they have now. Right now, I still find it just as fun as I did the first time how many years ago. Like every attraction I've gone on countless times, I've memorized nearly every second of it, but its still extremely fun.

I've never been too crazy on the podracing idea. Perhaps because I found the podracing scenes in Episode 1 to drag on and on and get boring pretty fast.

Star Tours is still one of my favorites. Some upgrades in technology are more than welcome though. Like digital projections and/or better SFX both on the screen and in the vehicles, etc. The 80's hairstyles of the flight director lady (or whatever she is....she gives us safety instructions) don't bother me too much since most of the characters in the original Star Wars had that look. But they could update the "pre-show" loading video just on the basis of how out-of-date the people's clothes and such are. I always get a kick out of the old WDW shopping bag somebody stows away.

I have a hard time enjoying the ride since it feels so tired. Part of this comes from the fact that there usually never a line... so it ends up that I feel like I'm riding something no one else cares about. Purely psychological, but it affects me nevertheless.

Body Wars is in the now seasonal Wonders of Life pavilion in EPCOT. It's 15th birthday will be on October 30 of this year, if it makes it that far.

Has what my signature says ever happened to anyone else? I think they should be paid to say that instead of just may the force be with you.

I love simulator rides, but Body Wars made me nauseous. I think maybe because it takes place int he human body. I got a weak stomach for gross stuff like that. Plus it's rougher than Star Tours, IMO. Between that and the body stuff.... blegh!

love star tours, but i would love even more to see a new video and thus ride sim. it is badly needed, sadly with lucas and eisner at odds, it could be a while. thus eisner needs to say goodbye

How are the cabins themeselves holding up? I remember not so long ago the structure was starting to crack since they were being stressed more than originally thought. Correct me if I`m wrong , it may have been the DL (1st) version.
