Anyone know anything about how the Wave is coming along over at the Contemporary? Any info on a opening day?

It's the new restaurant replacing the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary Resort if I'm not mistaken.

In essence, yes, but it is physically replacing the Food & Fun Center (or Fiesta Fun Center for you old timers :animwink:) on the first floor, next to the concierge desk. Concourse Steakhouse will close around the same time (currently set for May 31st), and that space will become the new permanent counter-service venue for the Resort. The Wave will be a full-service restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will also feature the largest bar and lounge area at Walt Disney World.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to any preliminary designs/sketches would you?

There's nothing out there yet, but the restaurant will have kind of an abstract underwater theme.

Cool, sounds awesome? I might have to tear myself away from Cali Grill and try it sometime. Any idea what the menu will consist of yet, or at least what type of cuisine will be offered?

If they keep the same chef who runs Concourse Steakhouse it will be good. Have never had a bad meal at Concourse. I plan on checking it out a few times. I like that they are going to offer breakfast.

Some possible interesting new developments. This info came from a cm while booking some adr's. She said cm's are'nt being told very much so far but she did say it may not be called The Wave, may not open in June AND it might have an Oriental theme. It's all speculation and not official but that was the latest she heard.

Take it from someone who works right next to the darn thing and has seen the concept art, there is almost no chance that it won't be called The Wave, and is still on track to open in June, and will have an abstract underwater theme.

So, I'm guessing it will be a TS? And if so, maybe there is a chance I can have that delish Barbecue Beef Short Rib over Grits....:slurp::slurp::slurp:

For those of us old enough to remember John Travolta as Barbarino in Welcome back Kotter......."I'm so confused"
