Antenna Topper Bandits?

Just goes to show how far people will go....... I've had an antenna topper (different ones) for years and luckily have never had one stolen. I traded vehicles a few months ago and now I have one of those short stubby antennas. My topper wouldn't fit on in so I took it off and have had it in my glove box ever since. My sister was home over the weekend and I gave it to her for her car! She loved it and I must say.....as I watched drive away I swear I saw Mickey waving by!:)

I got a NYYankees antenna topper as a gift last summer. I put it on my car, and two days later it was removed in the parking lot at work. Just yesterday, I noticed a car in the lot with the same topper...wonder if it's my thief?

Right now, Mike Wazowski is firmly attached to my antenna, and has been there for a year. My Disney toppers have never been taken.

And there seems to be a new craze, at least in Westchester County, for stealing or vandalizing Christmas decorations; it started two years ago. It usually turns out to be "bored" teenagers looking for thrills. Being middle-aged, I am hoping that I am gone before the world goes completely to hell, because it seems like that's where it's headed.

We have the same problem here in Orange County, kids with nothing to do steal Christmas, Halloween and Easter decorations (especially the blowups). :fork:

Nah - your thief was probably a bitter Mets fan (or Red Sox!)

Niiice!! :ROFLOL:
*is a Yankee fan from waaay back!*

I gave up on my toppers. They were constantly getting stolen by my neighbors across the street or stupid people in the mall parking lot. I had a Figment one up there for a long time (I think mainly because no one knew what it was) but even that finally got stolen. Any typical Mouse shaped one gets stolen within a day or two. :brick: I think I am going to try gluing another Figment up there and see what happens. Any suggestions on what kind of glue to use? I don't want anything too permanent because I would like to occasionally switch to another topper when they get worn out.

I used Aleene's Craft Glue in the Gold bottle because it doesn't melt in the heat. The secret is to really shove it down so it doesn't come off easily...even if you don't use glue.

Mine lasted from March till Aug. Of course it was on a vehicle we rarely drive. Naturally, it was stollen while we were on vacation. I'm not 100% sure when it was nabbed, but I believe it was while we were at the Indy zoo.

Oh well, Mickey's ear was torn when we bought it and was glued back on.

For those of you who are tired of losing antenna toppers, or don't have an antenna, they make these springs with a suction cup on the end. I've seen them sold at the parks, and there's a superhero Mickey that comes with one. My parents have that one on their dashboard and it's hilarious - it looks like Mickey is leading the way. :)

I've lost a few Figments from my car, so I usually end up buying a couple at a time.

I've had mine on for years. It's all faded now, maybe that's why it's still there. My wife's antenna was missing the little metal ball so I had to curl the tip around to make a loop. I have a Mickey head on it. It's impossible to take off.

 A Mets fan, perhaps. If it had been a Red Sox fan, I would have found the topper shredded into tiny, stomped-on pieces right next to my car! :ROFLOL:

Just for the record, we Sox fans don't vandalize the property of others. We simply hire Pedro Martinez to do a "hit", if youz knowz what I mean.

Had a few stolen from me when I worked at a Middle School. I didn't even bother with them for a few years after that because they always seemed to go missing when I put them on.

Three times. Including way back after my college program, my CP Graduation topper was stolen when I went back to school. I had a friend on vacation go and get me a Figment one to replace it, and he couldn't find one but he got me a sorcerer Mickey. That was stolen. So when I went back to be a CM again, I finally got my Figment topper. Stolen in the CM parking lot.

Fortunately, I have since gotten my hands on two CP Graduation toppers since then. One I'm going to put on my car and one I'm going to never put anywhere near an antenna.

It's all over. The DH had his stolen from the car parked outside our house...guess it was just the kids in the neighborhood. I solved the problem by
gluing it to the antenna
I was just about to glue mine because I am afraid someone is going to take my little pink Minnie Princess antenna topper!

Why do people have to do stupid things like that? ( thieving)?:(

Only topper I've ever had stolen was an LSU topper the we lost at home to Ole Miss two years ago. My dorm was right where a bunch of Ole Miss fans parked, and I can't help but think that after an unexpected victory, one of them grabbed a souvenir....

i havent had one stolen yet (knock on wood) but i don't want to glue it on there because I have one for all the seasons so I change it out every month or two. i guess it's a risk i'm willing to take
