Another online check in question -- re: charging to room card

Hi! We leave in two weeks :D

I want to take advantage of checking in online, but I also want to be able to charge stuff with our rooms keys. Is there a place to do this when you do the online check in?

Also, we've put in a room request already (general area) -- has anyone done that prior to checking in and received the area/room they requested?

Thanks!

Hi!

We leave in less then two weeks too!! :sohappy:

When you call in and make your ressie and put down your down payment or make a payment on the existing ressie, they ask if this is the cc # that you want your in room charges to be on. You can always change this cc # - but if you do not - that is the number on file. As for room requests - you can fax or call in the requests at any time - but I call the week before we check in. I also put the request in when I make the ressie.

Have a great trip!

I stayed at the Pop Century back in April for my birthday and this was the first time I had stayed at a Disney Resort. I checked in online and the week before I went I called and requested a room in the 80s. When I arrived at Pop Century that evening they had three cast members doing the online check in.

The only difference in doing the check in online and when you get there is the line you stand in and the amount of time it takes, because with online check in they have everything already done including coding your Key. The cast member who gave me my package with the room key noticed that I had requested a room in the 80s, but they had given me a room in the 50s. She made a call and was able to transfer me to a room in one of the 80s buildings with no problem. You will be able to have them connect your CC# to your room key at that time.

Since you have already made your room request I would say you have a good chance since it was a general area and not a specific location like room 7466 or the like. If they have given you a different area then what you wanted you can always ask the cast member if they can do anything for you.

If your credit card is already on file with Disney (like you used a credit card to pay for your trip etc and you left the number with the travel company) then when you check in online, the credit card logo will appear along with the credit card name (i.e. American Express) and what is evidently your credit card number x'd out and it will ask you if you would like to have charging privileges tied to the credit card on file (i.e. the one displayed). If you do, you just have to make sure that the card displayed is checked off, otherwise indicated to the system that you want to change the card on file.

We used a debit Visa card. Do they let you use a debit card for charging prvldgs? It does have the Visa logo on the card. Just curious
