Another fastpass plus question...

So I will be heading to the world in late May and really want to know how (if possible) I can start planning my fast passes and whether or not I want the wristbands. On the My Disney Experience app with my reservations, there is a title for the fastpass plus stuff, but I see no way to reserve any. When I called about the wristbands a few weeks ago, the guy told me we would receive a wristband when we get to the hotel. I'm just kinda getting frustrated with it all

I don't think there are the reserved Fastpasses yet. You can see it on the app, but it's not active. If I was a betting man, I would bet that it won't be working by the time you go in late May, but that is just a guess.

I would expect the Magic Bands themselves to become available well before FP+ is ready to go live. (So at that point it would just be room key, park admission, room charging and PhotoPass+ on the band)

That said, I'd be surprised if the Magic Bands appear by the end of May.

Thank you for all of your answers! I guess it is probably a good thing the bands won't be around by then because we are bringing a first timer with us (he's 20 yrs old!) and we don't wanna confuse him. I guess it will have to wait for another year to use the bands :(

No, the MagicBands would more likely be after FastPass+ is fully implemented. If you have a MagicBand there is no way to use the existing FastPass machines. There is no incentive to upgrade the FastPass machines because they will be removed after FastPass+ is completely live.

I had heard that that the regular FP machines arent going anywhere, but that the number of FPs allocated to them will be reduced by "x" amount after FP + goes live. The idea being that of a ride's capacity, a certain percent will be reserved for advance reservations thru FP +, while for those who dont like planning, a certain number will still be available via the machines.

No, that isn't correct -- there will be no more paper fastpasses. There WILL be day of fastpasses exactly as you describe but they will be done electronically and sent to your ticket or wristband, and there will be no more paper machines. That is what those Kiosks you see popping up all over the parks are about. You will be able to get day-of fastpasses just like always, but they aren't going to be spit out on a piece of paper.

I wonder, and forgive me if this has been answered already, if you can get more than 3 "day of" FP's? I mean, can I go online, schedule my 3 per day, and then once I am actually at the parks can I go to this kiosk and get another one on the "day of", or will my three ahead of time be completely it for me?

Me too. I'm hoping by our trip in August! Will be so much better than those cards. I know it won't happen, but I'm also hoping the new FP system is in place by then too.

I doubt that it will be ready in August. That is the middle of the third quarter. I am hoping for them to be ready by October, which is the 1st month of the 4th quarter, but I am not holding my breath.

No one knows for sure. My guess is that yes, "day ofs" will be available using the app (not paper, those are going away).

Yes, you will be able to get as many "Day of" fastpasses as you want, but you will only be able to "pre-select" three....using the same rules -- i.e. another fastpass only becomes available a set time after the current fast pass is issued....

Have you heard anything about how park hopping will be accommodated yet? If you reserve 3 fp's at one park, then hop to another will you be able to get additional day-of passes there?
