Another animal at AK

No, it's not a lemur. It's not a Tiger... Not even an animatronic elephant... It's me.

Yep, I'm on the Disney College Program and have been since mid January. But I've been so busy and been having so much fun I didn't even have time to come back to WDWMAGIC until today...in March!

I am working over at animal kingdom at the Tree of Life running the "It's tough to be a bug" show. It's quite easy and fun. If anybody has any questions about anything, feel free to ask!

I don't like writing long threads cuz then no one reads them but I'll fill you guys in more on stuff that I find out about.

Oh yeah... the budget was approved for the new rollercoaster at Asia. It is still without a name so any "fire mountain" stuff you hear is rumor. I'm not sure all you guys know about it yet but it will be similar to Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road and will lead to the construction of a path from Asia to Dinoland and may possibly be enough to open up the Boats around discovery island again!

They are running the boats every 2 weeks before the park opens to let new CMs train on driving them and keep them up. I am very good friends with 2 of the people who drive them (1 trained me in, the other one hung out with me tonight).

Thats all for now! Sorry if it was too long anf boring!

Hey that's great that you're working at Disney!!! I always wondered what that would be like? Is it worth it? Does it take away any of the 'magic'? That would be the only reason I wouldn't want to work at Disney World.
Thanks for the info about the new rollercoaster! Have fun!!!!!!

Hey all, thanks for all the great comments. I don't know too much more about the coaster but I work with some people who are really excited about it, so I'll keep trying to get info from them.

I was going to also work at Camp Minnie Mickey at the Festival of the Lion King, and Pocahontas shows being an usher or "Camp Counselor"... but Disney put on the hiring freeze so I'm not gonna be trained over there afterall.

Hey! Congradulations on working at Animal Kingdom. Its one of my favorite parks right next to my own park, Epcot. You are gonna have a ball on your Program, but be sure to take advantage of every little thing that comes your way. I came back last May '02, but Ive been back 3 times since then. I worked at Test Track, if you visit it, say hi to the older looking corwd for me...lol

Hey Man,
I am a CP alumni, I am from Minnesota, and I worked at the Tree. I loved it there. I also was a camp counselor, adventure guide, and animal presenter in the Tree of Life Gardens. It was the best time of my life. I want to make it down there to work again soon. I know that a lot of the old managers are gone, but Shelly and Erik rock...two of the best managers that will do anything for you if you are good to them. Who trained you on boats? Or did you not get trained on boats? Who trained you at the tree...say hi to those crazy kids from Tony...especially Kirk, i haven't talked to that kid in a long time. and remember, "If you feel the need to exit at any time during our performance, you may exit using the doors on your left and a theater usher will be glad to assist you." Have a wild adventure out there in the animal Kingdom....
Tony
