Annual Passholders

I purchased annual passes over the phone and was told that the day we arrive we can activate themat Guest Relations in any park.

Seems easy, right? But here's my question. My husband and I will be arriving late, after 9:00pm and will not go to the parks until the next morning. We are staying at the Boardwalk Villas and would like to be able to enter Epcot through the back entrance. Is there a Guest Relations area there so we can activate our passes? Or do we have to take a bus to the front of the Epcot entrance?

I am almost 100% positive that the resorts can not activate an AP.

You are correct, resorts cannot activate APs.

And to the OP...since you're going to the park the next morning, I'd do it then - your renewal date will be the day you activate it, so I wouldn't activate it until the first day you go to the parks. But that's just me.

A resort cannot do anything with an AP. My first trip down with one I asked if they could put my AP on my KTTW, the lady waiting on me said they cannot do anything with one.

All stated here has been correct. The resorts can do much but not a thing with the annual pass. Also stated correctly was that it really only takes a few minutes if you go in the morning. I have done this several years in a row now and do not remember it taking very long at all. Good Luck!

Do you know if Epcot has EMH that night, because if so, you could go over and activate them that night and if you wanted to go in the park for a little bit to soak up some atmosphere.

There's a bus to Epcot's main entrance from BWV? Really? I thought access to Epcot from BWV was boat only.
No Bus, you are correct about boat only or walk. I think you can get a bus to Epcot front entrance from the Studios. Having stayed at BW a dozen or so times, we usually walk.

AP needed for check-in with an AP rate?

Just one thing to consider. You may be asked for your AP when you check into the resort if you booked it with an AP rate. One location you may want to consider to use for redeeming your is Downtown Disney Marketplace. There is a guest services location there that I've used before to redeem your certificate for your AP. I'm not 100% sure of the hours, but it may be a good option for you.

Thanks so much for all the replies.

It sounds like we can just walk over to the back entrance to Epcot when we arrive. There is EMH that night at Epcot, so we've lucked out.
We don't need the passes to check in, we are DVC members.

You will only need to show them the voucher, not the ticket.

If you have the voucher 9 times out of 10 that will suffice. At worst you will have to show them the AP before you check out.
