Annual Pass question

HI,
I saw the other thread on Annual Passes but had a different type of question. I have never done Annual Pass and am going to the Poly Aug 24th-Sept 4th, 2005. After reading up on allearsnet.com, I thought it would be a great idea because of the length of our trip. When do these discounts come out? It seemed from the other thread that it might be 3 months ahead. Is this the case? Is it always a specific day, like the first of a month? I am very nervous that we won't get the discount because it's the Poly. If not we might have to change some of our plans
Hears keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks :)

If you want one specific resort then stick to a room only reservation paying whatever price is available now, b/c the AP discounts are limited and are not offerred for every resort. The discounts usually come out about 90 days in advance - but it's not exactly 90 days out.. you just have to call and check in alot. As for your dates - if you could move them back to August 28th-the Sep8th - you'd be elegible for Value Season Rates... which are a good bit less than the regular season.

If you book your hotel reservation through Pam at Kingdom Konsultants, who sponsors this board, you can book now at whatever rate it is and when the AP rates come out she will move you over to that rate. Either way you will have your hotel room. I have found that booking my trip in individual parts to be cheaper than an entire package deal which some parts of the package I might not even use. Pam can also book airfare too.

I live in NY and have an AP (regular, not premium) and find that it is well worth it just in the hotel discounts alone. If you use the pass for 7 days your pass has paid for itself and if you get any sort of hotel discount, it's a bonus. You will then be eligible to buy the Disney Dining Experience card ($50) which allows 20% off your meal & liquor in most sit down restaurants and bars around the world.

What jesserin said but with 2 additional pieces of info:

1: If you book a room at the Poly now, at the regular room rates, you will have to pay one full day as a deposit. But that entire price will be factored into the balance due if you get a room at the passholders reduced rate, which means that you'll have even less of a balance due when you check in.

2: Jesserin was wrong on the dates. For the deluxe resorts like the Poly, Value Season begins July 5th. The Value season for Moderate and Value Resorts' don't begin until 8/28. This is according to allearsnet.com and they usually know their stuff. So no worries there.

My advice: Book the room, pay the full rack rate for one night. And keep checking here, and on mousavers.com and allearsnet.com for word on the passholders rates coming out for your time frame. It'll probably happen mid-to-late May. Make sure whoever assists you in making your reservation knows that you'll be calling back for the annual passholder rates when they come out, and they'll probably try to put you in one of the rooms that a passholder normally gets. And if for some unusual reason you can't get an AP room at the Poly, you may still be able to get one in one of the other Deluxes. I'm sure there won't be a problem.

oops - thanks for the correction - you're right! I just booked a Coronado Room earlier today for a gal and she switched her dates back one night and ended up saving almost $300 total for her package! :)
