Annual Pass Program Returns

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a drastic program cut like this.

Disneyland Paris’ Annual Pass was a wonderful, benefit after benefit, quality program.

Benefits includes reduced park tickets for friends and family, extra magic hours, fabulous hotel rates, parking, photopass! - and all that wasn’t even exclusive to the highest tier pass!

Now… the *new* DISNEYLAND PASS main benefit is, and I quote, “Get to know Disney Parks like the back of your hand”

Abolustely bonkers, and I hope it wrecks them.

Even better - You have to have a valid existing AP to get a new one!

"We continually strive to bring new experiences and develop new products which deliver choice and flexibility to our members while doing our utmost to meet expectations. We have therefore developed this new range of products for our most frequent visitors based on the valuable feedback that our Passholders have given us. As a result, only Annual Pass members with a valid Pass are currently eligible for the new Disneyland Pass range."

If there was EVER a question about Bob being a complete bumbling idiot when it comes to theme parks, this should answer that question thoroughly.

Wow. That's quite the increase. We bought AP's just for a 3-day trip. With the free parking and 10% off at restaurants, it was about the same price as a 3-day ticket. But the Extra Magic Time was the main perk that made it worthwhile. Now, the pass that gives EMT is double the price we paid last year. Ouch.

Tokyo just had some large price increases in tickets as well. Sad to see the foreign parks catching up to the US in this regard.

That’s exactly why they increased them so much, they want people buying hotel and Ticket packages instead

As @The Moles Family said this is exactly the reason these changes have come in. The APs were just too attractive to too many casual visitors.

Thanks to COVID I've had two APs covering 2019-2023 and was due a 'break' and this has thankfully cemented any temptation no renew. I got Infinity last year knowing the perks would be going (to some extent) along with a hefty price increase so I am glad I have been able to take advantage of the perks and discounts while they were available.

It definitely makes some sense. Normally it is not terribly logical for someone living thousands of miles away to buy an AP for something. For WDW, the break-even point has always been 9-10 days or a couple separate trips, not just 3 days. Though the AP's for local amusement parks, museums, and the like is often 2-3 visits.

But the 3 times we have visited DLP we've stayed in Serris at an AirBnb or hotel. This would definitely make us more likely to stay on site (the intended goal).

Wow that's awful, some of those benefits encouraged extra stays or just extra few hours in the park without costing them very much at all overall. (like the free luggage holding, which often meant I got the last train back to London whenever I went as it just made it easy to grab our luggage and head to the station once we were done, which often include extra merch and food purchases!). The whole of TWDC seems penny wise and pound foolish at the moment.

Annoyed that the infinity viewing area and benefits are going away before expiry too 😂 I made a big mistake on getting my infinity pass last time (especially as I am doing do my Christmas trip earlier before the blackout dates 😂).

The cheek on for them to put "Discover your benefits" on the press release 😂
