Okay, totally off topic, and sorry for this, but did everyone read the comments made in one of first posts by bigbadwolf? Just asking the question.

This one?-Yes parents should allow thier children decide what they want togo on at the parks... But what is limit? When kids start to scream for food, drinks and constant attention, there is something wrong. Remember Verunca Salt from the 1971 Willy Wonka movie? American children act like that. I want more... I want more... I want this and I want that. The parents are also like Mr. Salt... But if your kids are calm, then that a good thing, and you have excuses, but some parents with a kid that is not ADHD has no excuse. When a kid screams like a dieing cat, that makes me furious.

You mean where he said that kids are annoying especially in the MK? Or when he was insinuating that the families in the MK have low IQs? Or was it the racist comments he made but said they were not meant to be racist?

Sorry, I had not noticed…

When I meant low IQs... I do not mean everybody... lol I mean most... And yeah I believe people who go to Animal Kingdom are more smarter then people who go to Magic Kingdom. The lower the IQ the less control they have over their children because they are not smart enough to compose in thier minds how to deal with the problem. They just let it happen... and happen.... and happen..... and happen.... and happen.... over and over and over... It is never clear in thier minds how they are being so rude. They are like those people who cross a busy street without looking, no common sense at all. :veryconfu And if I have a kid... I will know how to raise him or her because I have seen the way parents have raised thier kids in a moronic way. And like I mentioned to Ellajoan, the children are like Verunca Salt... Where the parents have no control, because they have to belive thier children ALWAYS have to be happy. And the racist thing... I didn't mean to affend everyone... but really, if you ever people watch, you might start to believe me.

Is it me or are some too touchy on this subject because maybe this topic is true, but they just don't want to believe it?
Also I feel more sorry for the Cast Members who have to deal with these annoying children... Maybe they should have 911 nannys running around the parks telling the parents what they are doing wrong?

You can't judge everyone on how they deal with their kids. Yes some do not handle things they way they should but some might have a special needs child and you just don't know the child has special needs. My daughter has a comunication problem. It is getting better but she is still way behind because of it. Because she can't always get her point accross she can have a meltdown. She also does not alway comprehend what we are trying to express to her. This can cause a situation sometimes. We try to watch for it to try to prevent it but sometimes you are not always able to. So because of this, that would make her annoying to you? That isn't right, I am sorry.

As for your other comment, it is still racist no matter how you slice it. And I am sorry but as much as you find it bad that some parents don't raise their kids to be perfectly mannered, I find it terrible that your parents did not teach you the correct values about not be a racist.

My parents did that to me for awhile... because I would tend to wander off sometimes when something caught my attention. My parents were scared of totally losing track of me, even when they kept their eye on me every moment (which is hard to do if you're in a very crowded place). The leash taught me not to toddle off whenever it struck my fancy. My parents taught me good common sense in the long run... even when I was little.

But you have an excuse. and Like I had said before, If someone has an excuse then its ok. Now fact that you think my parents raised me in a terribly when it comes to being racist is way off. I just "think outside the box." or "look at the big picture." Some people just cannot do that. Now I will admit I can be a jerk to you or a moron, but nothing can be done or be talked with about without people like me, thinkers and people who think "outside the box". Oh and if it was the Latin remark that you thought was racist? Sorry but from looking at the big picture, it is true in my own opinion and maybe others. The world is a racist place, and I am not even close to being a racist person. Trust me... I have met worse people... So again... I am sorry if I sound like a jerk, but I am trying to express my opinion on the topic. Now if you think I am wrong about the kids of today... Tell me I am wrong if children at the age of 5 should be allowed to sit in a stroller that is meant for a 3 year old?

I am sitting here laughing my #@! off. I read the first post, then a few more and then was hooked!

My only thought on this subject, is as a mother of 2 and aunt of many. We recently took a trip 12-21-04 to 1-1-05. We had 6 children in our group. We were there for a lengthy stay. No one is perfect 24/7, baby, child, adult. But no one had any meltdowns or temper tantrums. We did have one sick toddler on an afternoon bus back to the resort.

My nephew is a 3 year old, special needs child, he is adopted and is on several medications. He is a very large boy for his age, he is 3 and wears 6x-7. Many people will look at him, judge him by looks alone and think he is older than his age. He is too big to carry and still needs to be in a stroller for long days, especially at Epcot. I cannot believe that anyone would feel the need to judge who is "stroller worthy" and who is "not stroller worthy". But again, I am just a mom and aunt and a fan of Disney.

also, does our IQ raise and lower as we park hop?

BTW I cannot believe it has taken this long for anyone to point out the obvious, the park with the most annoying kids and adults has to be Universal and IOA ....right? ;)

lol... like your park hoping comment... I meant that IQs are differnt because some familys have children who want to learn and see animals... these people tend to be smarter... Some families just go on ride after ride like it is some kind of to do chart. My little bro, who is 11 years old read the signs about the animals as we passed by... so where other children. And the stroller thing... you have an excuse... but some parents do not have an excuse. It is not like I am going to come up to you in the park in front of people and say-"Hey you cannot do that." Because it is not my athority how to raise your children and what to do with them. I just think sometimes it is a bit redicoulous to have a 5 year old in a stroller. But also your nephew is 3, and you do have a an excuse so this dose not effect you. lol oh and did you go to the magic kingdom on the 1st? lol I was there...

I am not saying every kid is the same and that some are not misbehaving because some do, I know that. BUT you don't know which ones have an excuse as you put in my case or those that don't. You just should not judge people for what you see without knowing the facts.

And I am sorry but at work I aways hear the term "thinking outside the box" and I don't think they mean to use it as an excuse for making racist comments. See the one thing wrong about people who are racists is they don't see anything wrong with what they are thinking. No matter how you slice it, if you try to catagorize people on how they act or what they do by the their skin color, gender, age, religion, sexual preferences you are a bigot. It's a fact, sorry.

And as the poster right below your last post said, you have no idea if a kid that is in a stroller is 3 or 5 so just keep walking and ignore it. Is it hurting you they are in the stroller? Sure some might be 5, 6 or even seven but you don't know for sure. Also even if a kid is 6, maybe their is a sufficient reason for them to be there, you just don't know.

It is rare for me to get worked up over something I read here but it seems these are the types of posts that do it to me.

Oh, I do beg to differ in the most respectful way. I live in an area where the very wealthy have little or NO control over their children. The kids in the schools in the more affluent areas are total monsters and their parents, have very high IQs and work in very very high jobs.
Actually, I have found that folks with very high IQs make terrible parents, they are too busy reading the newest book on parenting while ignoring their children. Often higher IQs mean they are usually better educated and all that book learning, as it were, gets in the way of good old common sense.
Personally, I think Dr. Spock was the ruination of parenting. IMHO, the best practical use of a child psychology book is when it is firmly applied to the bottom of one of these uncontrollable children.

I would rather see a child of 5, 6, or even 7 in a stroller if it means they will not have a meltdown and it means that the parents are watching the child.
Heck, I would get in one some days. :) Wrong? No, your opinion cannot be wrong, but, it is not necessarily right for others.
I did not think your comments were racist, but, they were really close to the line. In some ways (just from observations in my area) I do agree with your assessment of the way different cultures raise their children. I guess in this instance it is not what you say but how you say it.

Like I said.. I am not aiming my gun at the people who have excuses... I am aiming it at the ones who do not have an excuse. Plus there are many of those who do not have an exuse, because the number of them has doubled. That is enough proof to say what I said... and I am not a bigot-"One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ." If you think about it, you just did it to me... You called me a bigot becuase you have no concern in my type of people who like to talk about topics like these. So technically we are both bigots...

You did not make me angry at all. I am trying to point out that lack of common sense does not necessarily come with low or high IQs. I have an extreamly high IQ and used to love the MK, where does that put me on your chart? I would care deeply if I was wrong about something. Using that I don't care anyways attitude shows a complete lack of consideration for insulting people or lack of respect when someone challenges your opinion. I really though better of you. But, I am sure you really don't care. :(

I do have to ask. Why does anyone have to have an excuse to put their child into a stroller, regardless of their age. Does it affect you? Did you pay for the stroller? Were you prevented from obtaining one? Believe it or not, noone needs to explain their actions to you if it does not have an effect on you.
If it makes the child and parents happy, then I say go for it.

In never said not to.... I said it was rediculous if a parent has no excuse...
I thought the topic was about how annoying children are depending on the park?

2 things:

1 - you still don't know which ones have the excuse, so you should not judge.

2 - me stating you made bigot like remarks makes me a bigot? that makes a lot of sense there junior...
