Annoying change at Space Mountain

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

There is a new auto safety spiel that plays at Space Mountain from the entrance all the way through the tunnel up until you reach the games. This wouldn't be that annoying, but... it plays non-stop. It finishes and starts again 10 seconds later. Once every 5 minutes would be fine, but nope. Constantly. It plays over the beloved entrance and tunnel music.

In other news:

- ceiling projections in loading area messed up
- music for "Starry-o-Phonic Sound" still barely audible
- half the sound effects installed for the audio upgrade don't cue anymore.
- the sound effect for the re-entry tunnel still delayed, doesn't play until you've almost already exited the tunnel, the same way it has been out of sync. since the big refurb.
- queue full of chipped paint
- queue still routed through ugly unthemed hallway on one side, no attempt at at least installing atmospheric lighting in the hallway was ever made.

I heard this in November...And this was my reaction for playing over the best music for a ride..

To me its just yet another example of TDO's shortsightedness and lack of quality control or anyone to step in and say "wait, maybe there's a better way." It's bad enough that it drowns out the iconic music, but stuff like that has got to be torture for the standby line, which, of course, always moves at a snails pace because 80% of the ride's capacity is devoted to (prebooked) Fastpasses.

And why is it suddenly necessary after all these years? And if its suddenly a necessary thing, then why doesn't every thrill ride have a spiel playing on an endless loop? I can only assume this was a change someone pushed for to pad their resume' and nothing more.

If I remeber correctly,
Space mountain in DL has one small room right before the boarding area with TVs surrounding the queue and the spiel playing.
That's the way they should do it so they don't kill the music

Disneyland has had this exact spiel for a while now. It plays on the concourse outside (where they also play vintage EPCOT Center music that lowercase Epcot has disowned) and in the Star Trek: The Motion Picture refit Enterprise-esque corridors leading to the station. The difference is that Walt Disney World has unique iconic music playing in their queue, although that atmosphere was already ruined by the crummy video games added years ago.

but does it play non-stop with only a 10 second gap?

It was like that when I was there last and I was really annoyed by it as well. (glad there are some mp3s of the music out there to get w/o that annoying dialog). It is quite ironic that they have the volume up for the saftey warning, but not for the music and sounds during the ride.

Still my favorite ride down there though :(

Try getting stuck in line at the Kali Rivers Rapid waiting for lightning to stop and hearing the spiel about the tree loggers and how it is important to preserve the trees and the environment...FOR OVER AN HOUR!

And this is why I am thrilled to have selected Space Mountain as one of my MK FP+ selections. Dear lord I cannot even imagine standing in the queue hearing the spiel that frequently.

I can't help but wonder... or maybe it's more hope... that it's an error of some sort. Like TDO thinks it plays once every 2-3 minutes but someone actually at the controls behind this sort of thing fudged it up. I still tend to sit on the site of the fence that wants to believe TDO really is trying so I tend to justify every bad thing like this as being someone else's fault. LOL!
