Annoying change at Space Mountain

Ugh, that is some of the best que\ride music they have.
Stop being a nanny state and just let me have fun. The safety thing at WDW has really ramped up recently. I get it but, darn it gets silly at some point.

this makes me very sad as SM is one of my most favorite rides and ive ALWAYS loved the music in the tunnel. but is this something new the spiel i mean? my wife and i were there in 2013 for our honeymoon and rode it a couple times, i cant say that i remember hearing that all the way down the tunnel. And as far as the state of "fixes" needing to be done, i hope those are fixed soon for not only everyone else but for my trip with the wife and kids in 2016. It will be my youngest son's first time there and i hope he doesnt take away a memory of things looking crappy or broken.

I honestly doubt your son will remember things looking "crappy" especially if this is his first trip and he's young. Most people here don't necessarily blow things out of proportion, but they're used to seeing WDW and the more they go the more stuff wrong with it they seem to notice all the while planning their next trip.

Got to agree with most of the last couple of posts I've read....always love the "Star Tunnel" music, hate the abuse my body takes on Space Mountain, it really has come to the point where it's not worth the beating I take to ride it. Now, while I haven't heard the new non-stop safety spiel, the last time I was there, I did find the "Spanish Ghost Host" in the Haunted Mansion slightly awkward.

Yes, highly unlikely your son would view it as "crappy looking."
Sometimes I wonder if the WDW title of these pages might mean "Walt Disney Whiners."

While it may be true that visiting more often means you notice more things wrong, if you visited in the 90's and earlier and compared that to today, there is a well documented decline in quality, and it isn't just nostalgia skewing past memories.
