I got a couple questions on this.
If made annonymous...
How would the entry thread be handled (you would see who entered the image in that thread)?
Would we find out who made the Image after the poll is over?
I hate everyone feels it has came to this, I like many others just vote for the one we like the best, obviously someone thinks that people are being biased in their voting now.

Most judging contests are usually anonymous. I have no problem with this, but I think everyone needs to remember that it's just a contest, with nothing more than you-did-a-great-job and bragging rights. It's not like we're trying to elect the leader of the free world. Either way is fine for me; I simply choose the best no matter whose name is beside it.

I totally agree. Just vote for what you like. Who cares who made it. I don't want to be anonymous, then I'll get no votes. :lol:

. A LOT of people think this way I think... I felt this way... way before Zac even started running these contests... (But, that was a while ago when a lot of vote swaying garbage was going on). But now,
Personally, I don’t give a crap about these contests anymore or how they are run. Too much fighting and BS during this most recent contest has totally turned me off to these contests.

Obviously, I tried to IM someone the other night and I started my IM with a comment on the poll thread. Well I suppose it was an incredibly touchy subject, I got chewed out for I don't even know what and had to block that person from my list. I'm not sure what is really going on, but I really think it best if I never find out in this case. :lookaroun
And like a few have said, this should be friendly fun for everyone, not such a serious issue that it appears to be turning into, but that's just my thoughts.

The only reason that I picked Annonymous is that some people may have favorite people that they are friends with and may not pick another design because they aren't friends with them like other people. I don't do this design stuff, so I don't know. Just my opinion.

If it's because people think that others are "fishing" for votes...couldn't the people that are "fishing" (instead of saying..."VOTE FOR ME" ) just say, "Vote for the entry that looks like (insert description here)"

I say no to anonymous voting.
*Although the entries will be anonymous you can still tell who did what. We all have our own characteristics when making wallpapers and you can still tell who's who.
*Plus the last time these contests were anonymous...the voting thread was completely dead. Which defeated the purpose of these contests.
Let's just keep it simple & fun.

Most of you have hit the nail on the head. This is only a little contest for fun, and to have a group of people compare walpapers on a similar subject. Way to big a deal is being made about who has how many votes. The annonymous thing went horribly wrong last time, and I can almost guarantee it will happen again. Nobody had any interest because they couldn't even tell who entered the contest.
It seems that for some reason enough people are truly upset about votes, so if the voting stays as it is, then I'll make it annonymous. Just don't say I didn't warn you.
I'd also like to say that there have been several contests where I didn't hardly get any votes. Why? Beacuse my wallpaper wasn't good. Did people care that my name was beside it? Apparently not, otherwise I've would've gotten more votes.
I think the fact that I recieved 3 votes and 25 votes in 2 consecutive contests is proof that not to many are voting based on who made the wallpaper. I made a bad TTA wallpaper, and no one voted for it. It's that simple.
Also, spider-man, the way it works is that everyone has to email me their entry as an attachment, and then I post every single entry as entry number 1, entry number 2., etc. Exciting, huh?:lol:

I say we try an annonymous one for once and see if we like it and if not then we go back to knowing who did it. However I am assuming that if we do the annonymous one we will all find out who did what wallpaper once the contest is over...?

I think the part that bothers me most about the anonymous thing is all the extra work it requires for MSU... he's already doing this free and now adding prizes (props to MSU!), so he's giving a lot of himself to this contest. He's a very talented artist, and it's obvious that art is one of his passions or it's likely these contests wouldn't be as popular as they are today... he's been a driving force behind them... so my vote is still NO to the anonymous... having to e-mail the entries to MSU and then him stripping it and posting it kinda makes it pointless..
One of the funnest parts to me, has always been asking someone how they created a certain effect or hearing people comment on their own artwork (positive or negative), and this negates the ability to do that until the contest is over.
Like MSU, I'm still in one way or t'other, because it's too much fun to have it be spoiled by something silly like this, especially when it's about a topic (DISNEY) that is supposed to bring people together in harmony, not tear them apart.

Yes, the wallpaper's artist will be announced when the contest is over. All of the artists, not just the winner.
Also, as said above, the annonymous thing HAS been tried before.

And yes, I agree with you about the artist commenting on their own work. Not too many post their wallpaper without a comment or two before hand. But, if the votes stay the way they are, we'll just have to do without this and a few other fun aspects for the next contest.

While I wish I could win, I am not going to be rude because someone is a lot better. I also think Zac is extreamly nice to put out his money to send you a cool shirt that he designed!

Zac, when I was making the suggestion about having it annonymous I only meant for the numbers beside the posts where we actually vote. That way if someone just signs in to vote only, the number beside the entry (with no name showing up) won't sway their vote.
If someone wants to find out who did what, it won't be very hard to find out. They can just ask around. But I thought if the actual voting could be numbered, the many people who just log on to check out the contest, won't be swayed.
People would still be able to comment in the submission thread about different entries if they wanted to.
