Anna & Elsa "Coronation"

Pertaining to Pocahontas and Mulan, I always let Pocahontas slide because even though she wasn't technically a "princess" her father was the Chief of the tribe. She was treated differently and given certain privileges and additional respect because of her father's position...kind of like a princess being treated special because she is the daughter of a king.
Mulan, on the other hand, is a different story. While I enjoy the movie and I do admit she did admirable and brave things to protect not only her father but also her country...she is neither born royal or with superior rank, nor does she marry into royalty. Li Shang, while possessing the title of Captain in military ranks, is not a prince. He is a soldier. Point blank period.
Anywho, just thought I would ramble about that for a minute...its something that has always irked me.

That's a fair point. On the other hand, do YOU want to be the one to tell Mulan she's not a Princess? She blew up Shan-Yu, what do you think she'd do to you? ;)

Well, technically, aren't most of the Disney Princesses actually queens, or will be queens in the near future after the end of their films, seeing that many of them marry princes that are heirs to the throne? Actually, come to think about it, doesn't it seem odd that e.g. Prince Eric isn't already king in the film? He doesn't appear to have any parents..

Princess Eilonwy needs to be recognized as a Disney princess... I don't care how underrated she is, she's a Disney character, who's a princess.

They at least had Princess Kida out doing M&G's at DHS several years ago..It's shame she's not acknowledged as well..

Well, it's not known if Snow's Prince is an heir. Granted, since the Queen died, she would most likely be next in line. Tiana, Pocahontas, and Mulan aren't going to be queens. Belle is unlikely to be a queen either, since the Prince's domain seems to be a small little place with no real authority. He disappeared for ten years (as far as anyone knew) and it didn't seem to affect things much, certainly not Belle's village.

Question for you all:

If history is any guide, Anna and Elsa will soon be formally inducted into the Disney Royal Court or whatever it's called with the rest of the official Disney Princesses -- especially given how well the movie has done. That's fine with respect to Anna, she is a princess after all.

What do they do with Elsa, though? She's a queen, which obviously trumps mere princess status. Does she get knocked down a rung? Does she become the ruler of all Disney Princesses? Do they just have her join the court with everyone else as an equal but make no mention of the fact that she technically outranks all of them?

Kinda joking, but I am legitimately curious to see how they handle this little wrinkle...

Not only is she a queen, but she's also the only person over 21 in Disney's royal ranks....

True.. Then there's Cinderella, Aurora and Ariel?

Cinderella - probably, the Prince doesn't seem to have any brothers.

Aurora - I don't know enough about Kings and Queens to know what will happen with her. Her parent's are both a King and Queen yet Phillips are also. So which Kingdom (?) would they become King and Queen of?

Ariel - She has too many older sisters so no she wouldn't become a Queen.

Actually, the emperor who was supposed to be near a god in these days.. did bow down to her. That would give her lot of honor and rank.
I wouldn't be surprised if she gained perks.
Also she was hardly of a family of peasants.. her father had a state with a land.
Pretty sure he was a local lord or something like that.

But nobody likes her because Atlantis was little more than Stargate crossed with Road to El Dorado.

Oh, please. "Scientist finds lost civilization and scores a hot chick" goes well before Stargate, including but not limited to the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs and The Mole People.

Besides, I see Atlantis as less a Stargate knock-off and more a proto-Firefly/ Serenity; Joss Whedon was one of the many people who worked on the story, and you can see a lot of that with the crew.

Actually, according to story, Trousdale & Wise had been hired to do "Journey to the Center of the Earth", but thought it was too slow and needed "more monsters". So they decided to go with a faux-Verne instead, but by that point, there wasn't enough budget or time for the monster-attacks they'd storyboarded.
So, we pretty much got the ONE monster attack, a brief scene of one of the others worked into a montage, and filled in the rest of the story void with having the looney-tune supporting characters school-bullying Milo in the halls.

(And I remember, when it came out, we liked Kida, and maybe Milo, we just....didn't like anybody else.)

See, I loved Cookie (granted, ANY character voiced by the late great Jim Varney is someone I'm gonna love), and fans of the movie (it's become something of a cult film) seem to focus on Vinnie.

As far as the monsters, technically, there are two- the Leviathan, and the firefly swarm. Mike Mignola (creator of Hellboy) also worked on the art design and production for the movie, and it really shows in spots. Anyway, it's a movie that I liked well enough when it came out, and it's grown on me a lot since then.

I still stand by my Firefly analogy, though. Audrey = Kaylee, Vinnie = Jayne, Sweet = Book, and Milo and Kida are roughly analogous to Simon and River, albeit they're not brother and sister. He's a tinhorn who gets bullied by the rest of the crew but eventually gets accepted, she's a mysterious warrior girl with strange powers who spends some time in a box.

Ariel - She has too many older sisters so no she wouldn't become a Queen.

With Aurora, as someone else mentioned, I would assume they would merge the two kingsdoms, or they would be King and Queen of both kingdoms.

No, Ariel would not become Queen of Atlantica, but I assume she will be queen of Eric's kingdom? ;) Aren't they king and queen in The Little Mermaid II (Haven't seen it in ages, so I don't really remember)? That would actually place her in the same position as Elsa, assuming that Disney acknowledges the sequels as canon.

And then there's Rapunzel - isn't it explicitly stated at the end of the movie that she became queen, succeeding her parents?

In Aladdin it is definitely stated that Jasmine will be queen someday, and she marries Aladdin, who will be sultan.

In Merida's case, I assume one of her younger brothers would inherit the throne, as the movie is supposed to take place in something like real life medieval Scotland, but you never know with Disney. ;)
