Christmas sales! Big push for the new line of Frozen stuff. It's Disney Merchandising who are in charge of the coronations and the "official" princess line. that's why a few of the non popular princesses didn't make the cut.

Anyone could attend Rapunzel's coronation. Also they could have it at any other park worldwide. It's not like its exclusively a WDW thing.
