Anna and Elsa - Just Plain Ridiculous.

Does anyone else agree with me that the Anna and Elsa M&G is just plain ridiculous? While I was in Epcot last month, the wait was up to 4 hours. I waited a little over 3 for Oogie Boogie at Unleash the Villains, but that was a special occasion. Does anyone else think it isn't worth it to meet up with the characters from Frozen? Plus, now that they're moving to MK where Fastpass+ is available, I think it's getting even more out of hand. Maybe it's just me, but I'm using a Fastpass on a ride, not to see the princesses.

It is a bit crazy but they are really popular right now. I mean extremely popular. But I am thinking the lines for them will slowly decrease given time...maybe...

I think it is a little excessive having to wait that long. I feel there isn't a reason to wait that long. Actually I don't know if I should be talking when Turtle Talk with Crush opened me and my brother were little and my family waited around 200 minutes:eek:

You or I might not, but apparently a line containing enough people to build up a 4 hour wait do.

I agree that the line is a bit ridiculous, but people who really do want to meet them are willing to make the sacrifice. They are cute characters with personalities that will draw people in, and obviously Frozen is extremely popular right now. I personally would not and with FP+ I would save it for the rides as well. But then again if you told me they had Jafar out for a M&G and the wait was 3+ hours, would I wait? You best believe it. Just depends on the person!
Wish there were ways to cut the line down for the people who really want to though, I feel like no one really deserves to have to wait 4 hours :/

M&G's have got abysmal hourly capacity. The lenght of a line says as much about capacity as about demand. A line of four hours would indicate there is likely enormous unserved demand still.

M&G's are fun, but not the heart of the WDW experience for me. But tell that to the hordes of parents who have watched a tv commercial that told them the greatest thing they can do for their prince and princesses is to fly them to the subtropics and have their kid stand still there in the blistering heat for four hours just to get their picture taken as a reminder of daddy's excellent parenting.

toughens up the little ones...it's good for them. ;)

It's all a matter of personal priorities. Would I wait that long for them- no. Have I let my kids wait even close to that long for any character - no. Still, it's a must for some people. I also remember extremely long waits when Rapunzel and Merida were "new." I think we were told something like a 3.5 hr wait to see Rapunzel and about 2.5 hrs to meet Merida (different trips- each were when they were the newest princess). We walked away and just told the girls to wave :) So, the Anna and Elsa waits really aren't that far off from any of that, but it just seems to be getting a lot more attention.

Okay so....
It's okay to wait three hours for one anthropomorphic sack of bugs from a nearly-20-year-old stop motion movie.....
But four hours to meet TWO characters from an Oscar-winning movie that is on track to take down Toy Story 3 as the top grossing animated movie of all time (Frozen just opened yesterday in Japan...all it needs is $63mil to beat Toy Story), that's just too much.

I'm sorry, but I don't see the logic in this argument.

The movie passed a billion dollars at the box office. Kids and families LOVE the movie. It has become the biggest blockbuster to come out of Disney animation since the Lion King.

To put it lightly, it's popular, and it probably will be for a while. Disney is going to prolong the marketing as long as possible, so the more kids see and hear about it, the more they'll want to meet Elsa and Anna.

From us it is a big NO, DS 9 does not queue for characters, he is happy to go for a meal and let them come to him! If they want to keep queuing and using there FP for characters that leaves more for those who want to do the rides.

It's not really an argument, I just wanted to hear the opinions. :p
Plus, it was my birthday at Unleash the Villains, so I was kinda "in the moment." I can't say that I haven't had those ridiculous moments.

I'm considering waiting 3 hour line for them at DL this May. My kids will be 3 and 5 and LOVE Frozen! They know every word to every song. They act out scenes from the movie together. They choose a Frozen Party for their birthdays. To them Frozen is the best thing ever! I've waited 3 hours for concert ticket back in the pre-internet days to get okay seats to see a band. To them meeting Anna and Elsa is a big deal! I have told them we may not be able to see them the lines are very long but we will see how I'm feeling when we get there.
