Animation Inn Greenlighted?

Wow I spend a few hours away and the rumor mill goes ballistic. According to the very reliable Disney Gossip blog, the Animation Inn should start opening around 2011. I would just like to say from what I have read, I think it is a great concept.:D

Also Disney is making a movie based on Tomorrowland starring Dwayne Johnson. I'll let somebody else start that thread. I think this project is full of potential as a possible action/adventure/comedy/sci-fi/SFX/thriller. This movie could be all that. I'm not joking that I really believe this could be an amazing project! Love the idea for many reasons.:sohappy:

Someone please start a thread about how this could effect T-land at WDW.

Awsome. I like the idea of the Animation Inn. It should be a very intresting hotel.

Tommorowland the Movie. I don't know what to say. I didn't really think they would make a movie on Tommorowland. But this story kind of sounds intresting. It doesnt sound like the Tommorowland of the parks, so I guess they are just borrowing the name for the movie.

that tomorrowland movie has absoluetly nothing to do with disney parks from what i understand and no ones gonna see a dwayne johnson movie sorry.

edit: so apperantly it is based on tomorrowland and the plot sounds pretty bad. I hope it ends up in the same pile as the Jungle Cruise movie.

I'm not sure that's true... The only one he did that was a true bomb was Doom... And it had nothing to do with him.. It was just a sad and pathetic movie..

The Rock is a very strong actor, who unfortunately chooses very crappy movies to be in, which doesn't give me hope for Tomorrowland.

Dwayne the Rock Johnson will be in the movie 20 000 leagues so I don't see 3 Rock/Disney pictures coming out and the animation inn should be a POP if I remember an old thead on here....don't really believe either will happen anytime soon.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the 20k movie will be the 3rd Disney/Rock movie. Both The Game Plan, and Race To Witch Mountain were "Walt Disney Pictures" and starred Dwayne Johnson.

Exactly. I'll try to find a description on the web. Seems like they will be providing a new accomadation type in that location.

You are referring to the long rumored family suites moving into the half built portion of Pop Century?

Which involves retheming / rebranding all of Pop Century so that it then can become a new family-friendly Resort, Disney's Animation Inn and Suites.

We all know what this means. They are going to close the entire resort and just leave the buildings empty until they can get some 3rd party hotels to build on the location. Seriously with all these DVC places opening and that resort next to Port Orleans Riverside underway, do they really need to worry about how their resort looks? How about getting some new E-Ticket attractions opened? AI just isn’t cutting it in my books.
