It really looks great. I just hope they light it up.

Just a thought. Imagine being in your hotel room at night with the family & asking "Who wants to go to Hollywood tomorrow?" :lol: Not quite the same as saying "Who wants to go to MGM?".

I couldn't agree more!!! I looks good.. but just kinda outta place... Guess so many years of seeing the original sign its hard to get used to...

I have to eat my words, and I've never been so glad to be wrong...the sign IS backlit at night!

I still like the old one better though, but that's just me.

Very nice. A great improvement over the non-Disney MGM deal. But the picture reminds me of something. I wonder why they have not painted a similar "skyscape" on the Soarin' building as you can see in these pics painted on the "Playhouse" building? :shrug:

That wouldn't be a bad idea. It would tie into the theming of Soarin' and maybe make it look less obtrusive.

But I think the only reason they painted the sound stage was for the Chicken Little add they had up there a few years ago.

Correct. It originally had a piece of "sky" that appeared to be falling off. I'm not sure why its still up, but it doesn't look bad, either.

The Soarin' building is not really all that visable from most of the park, and if guests DO see it, I doubt many of them even make the connection of what it is. It wouldn't really be worth painting.
