Hi Everyone: Haven't been to WDW yet but will in 30 days. Can anyone tell me if there is an area to view the people riding down the Kali River Papids? I would like to get video or pictures and have read many times that the ride is a real soaker, so want to be somewhere else to do pictures. Thanks

The only place I know of in which you can see people on the ride is at the end...on the bridge..and by that point they are already soaked :(

You can see the ride in the queue. There's a portion of the queue where you are surrounded by rocks. If you look beyond the rocks, you can see the ride.

You won't be able to see the real wet parts of the ride like the big splashdown because they're hidden deep in the jungle.

I have been on Kali three times and I have barely gotten wet anytime I have been on it, but some people in my boat were soaked

Also, on the bridge at the end of the ride are two control panels that operate the elephants. Its great to stand there and get the people wet.

We are driving to Orlando today arriving tonight. We'll be going to AK on Sunday. Last time we went we didn't ride that Rapids ride so we can't wait!!! If its hot I want to get soaked!!! :hammer:

Seems like the raft has a tendency to turn so that the heavier people have their backs to the drop and catch the biggest splash....so guess who ALWAYS gets soaked.

like now inc said, the bridge at the end is a good place to get pictures. my friends took some of me from the bridge because they were all to chicken to go on ( i mean come on it was ONLY 50 degrees) :D you won't get wet on the bridge, just those brave enough to take on the rapids

THAT'S interesting...I swear it always turns so I go down the drop backwards...funny how you see it just the opposite.....maybe there's no correlation at all...just coincidence!

The funny thing is tho...the drop isnt the spot in which i get the most wet...

Those damn water jets that shoot out of the water, and the tall drifts..those are the ones that murder me...

Does anyone know if Disney has done some work on the rapids. When I went a year ago no one in our boat got wet and people were complaining that the ride was to lame. I then heard that Disney changed the ride so that it became a little more turbulent. Don't know if that is true though so anyone with any insight would be helpful.

I got soaked and loved it during the summer! For me, didn´t really matter where I sat, I didn´t get wet with the "rainfalls", but with those water jets and the water coming inside of the boat! It was a lot of fun. Compared to those family rafts on top of the mountain in Blizzard Beach....but you are not wearing your swimsuit!

Has any of you done it in January-February? I did! with a raincoat! it was cooold!:D ;)

I have never ridden the Kali River Rapids ride myself.:(

I don't like getting wet in Florida unless I'm in a swimsuit.
The humidity in Central Florida is so high it takes forever to get completely dry and I don't like sloshing around the parks all day..

However I would LOVE to watch YOU get wet Maria

  :dazzle: :slurp: :zipit: :) :animwink: :p
