Animal Kingdom trail

Does anyone know if the "hidden" trail in the animal kingdom is still accessible??? And...does it/did it ever exist...and if so...WHERE IS IT???

Disney has closed it off. It was behind the cigarette smoking area between Africa and Asia. You could go down this little dirt path and through little creeks and stuff. I thought it was a great escape from the crowds.

I don't know why it was closed, but I am willing to bet it was because some jackass found a way to get hurt on the trail.

OH MAN...I was gonna try to find it when I went this past February but we never got to the AK...

I was hoping to find it on my next trip...That really stinks.

I went down it before... Its nothing really good, just a quite place to rest or something when you are tired..

if you need the quiet place to walk down the trail and rest, try conservation station. It's a nice walk, and almost never corwded.

Yeah, I went out and bought a Magnum P.I. and held John Candy up JUST TO RIDE DINOSAUR ONE TIME!!! (but the hostage situation didn't last that long because there isn't THAT much to do in AK )

I had never heard of this until I browsed to this thread. How long was this path?

not more than 100 feet or so.....a little dirt path away from the crowds....it crosses a stream that you have to walk on rocks to cross.

It was not very long, maybe about 5 minutes at the max if you stood around and examined the fine details of the plants beside the trail. But the great thing about it is that no one knew it was there, so you could escape from the crowds and not see a soul for minutes at the time (and in the peak season like Memorial Day that mean't something).
