Animal Kingdom Sea?

Hi my name is Michael. Long time reader, beginner poster, first time threader.

I watched the Animal Kingdom special on the Travel Channel the other day and noticed an animation towards the end that depicted the lava monster from Journey to the Center of the Earth when they were talking about the future of AK. They also mentioned that they had lots of room for expansion, which is kind of a given. Did anyone else notice this?

I should also add that I checked out a site called Progress City after seeing it mentioned on another post and noticed that they mentioned the mysterious island concept for AK. Is this really a possibility?
I do think that the oceans need more recognition than just the Nemo show at AK. Does anyone know any more about this?

Thank you for the link!

I thought the special looked a little old. It seemed like the segments are ready to drop into place at a moments notice. I also watched a Samantha Brown episode where she mentioned her favorite rides and the newer ones are barely mentioned. Are their any newer shows coming out or could it be in production?

Edit: Does Disney typically announce an expansion ahead of time or do they spring it upon the public like "magic"? I hope any addition to AK is unique.

They kinda put themselves in a weird spot with Nemo at AK, didn't they. Do Sea themed attractions need to be limited to Epcot? Same thing can be said about MK and Pixar attractions. With Pixarland at DHS, shoud they leave them in Tomorrowland? They did kick the flamingos out of Epcot when AK opended.

The Nemo musical wouldn't fit anywhere else on property (cough Lights, Motor, Action chough). So it went to AK. I would love to see more playful critters. Seals/Sea Lions with a HUGE environment and lots of interactions. The problem comes, if they can't do it better than Sea World, why do it at all? We visited the San Diego Zoo over the summer. They had a Sea Lion show. It sucked. We went to Sea World the next day and told the kids, this is the real Sea Lion show.

Disney can't do it half way. It has to be the best. If not, it won't be worth it.
