Hey everyone I type this on my way to down town Disney 7 days in 7 to go, we decided to upgrade today and the only deluxe Avaliable was AKL jumbo house. On the bus this couple was saying they would never stay at Jumbo only the village, so my question is who knows the difference? I thought it was nice since the quick serve was so close etc. Does any one know!?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Kidani Village is all DVC studios and Villas. Jambo House is mostly regular rooms with a small area of DVC studios and villas. Yes if staying in a DVC room then I prefer Kidani Village hands down because the rooms are nicer, larger, etc etc. than Jambo's DVC section. But being you are staying in a regular room it sounds and not a DVC room then you can only stay at Jambo House. If you were to upgrade to a DVC room then I would have picked Kidani Village. You will love Jambo don't worry!! Beautiful resort! We are now DVC members so we always pick Kidani Village but if I was to stay in a regular resort room at a Deluxe Resort I would definately have considered Jambo House. :)

Yep, what she said. I can vouch for feeling the same exact way, but you will be fine at Jambo.

We rent DVC rooms but much prefer to be at Jambo House. Love the feel of being in the MAIN lobby, pool, and gift shop (we enjoy visiting King Pin daily) area. Last stay we walked over and explored Kidani Village area and no aspect of it was near as grand. Although, I do hear their rooms are superior on Village side.

Someone who says they would never stay at Jambo has probably never stayed at Jambo. Not a thing wrong with it (except maybe price). It is a stunningly beautiful resort. I say that even though I prefer Kidani. Kidani is smaller, has a nice, more relaxing pool area and the cozier feel better suits us, but we will stay at Jambo again. It is a great place.

Totally agree with your sentiments as well! Nothing wrong with Jambo at all. We see eye to eye on this one.
Off subject a second....Don't you love the little cozy fireplace in that little area at Kidani Village where you have some doors to go outside with rocking chairs. We sit in front of the little fireplace every evening on the couch area, or go outside and sit in the rocking chairs. No one is ever sitting in front of the fireplace or outside and feels so secluded and cozy. The little rocking chairs suit me perfectly because I'm so short. Haha! :).

Yes, for a place that is actually fairly large Kidani does seem cozy.

Same here.
Walking through the Jambo lobby every morning and evening to get to and from the bus stop never failed to impress and please me.

By contrast, Kidani feels a little small and unfulfilling, though I do like their pool. You should walk over and give it a try if you have the time.

For us Kidani is our favorite:
Kidani:
Quite
Intimate
Large bathrooms in the rooms
First bus stop in the loop
Great pool
Sanaa

Jambo:
Smells awesome all the time
Jiko and Mara (can't speak to Boma)
Bathrooms, studio, are small
The lobby always feels busy and loud

These topics always prove one thing, both houses are awesome to someone!

We stayed @ Jambo House a few years ago!!! Excellent pool & restaurants. Never stayed @ Kidami...but we checked it out...we liked Jambo much better!!!!

We stayed at Jambo before it was Jambo - when there was only the Lodge and no DVC component. Plus, because our room was deeply discounted, we had absolutely no view - we were placed on the third floor (which is essentially the "ground floor" so as to create a savannah, the 1st & 2nd floors are below the lobby), near the bus stop and our "view" was of the awning providing shade to people waiting for buses.

Still one of my favorite resorts on property and one of my best stays.
