Hi All,
What are the best rooms for views please?

I suffer terribly with mosquito bites!!!Do they have any repellent in the rooms? Can you take plug-ins??

Any links to the hotel would be appreciated

Thanks,

I suppose when you go will surely determine if there are mosquitos present or not. We were there in Feb and there were no bugs - 50 to 68 degrees. I didn't see any repellant either - that may be a special request so perhaps you can ask when you book your trip. At any rate, you can always take it with you

We have stayed at several of the resorts, and liked them all, but the AKL is the first one that I would have a repeat stay before finishing trying them all. Fantastic! Must have the Savannah view. Woke up, had coffee, the paper, and watched the animals from my balcony. Nothing prepares you for the day better. Outstanding.

Bugs were not an issue.

You won't need bug spray.

On the rainiest, steamiest, most humid days of the summer, I have been there and never once saw, heard or felt a mosquito.

... If you still feel worried, by all means, put on a coat of Off!!! Just bear in mind that AKL does not supply this, so you will need to purchase your own.

I've never had a bug problem at all at AKL... not sure how they do it, but not one mosquito bite our whole time there (not even at the parks).

Best Savannah view rooms are the 3rd or 4rth floor, Zebra Trail, facing the Inner circle.

Why?
3rd or 4th floors are perfect height for viewing the animals...
Zebra trail is easiest access to the pool, and the Mara.. just a quick elevator ride down.
And the Inner circle is the one that over looks the Arusha savannah.. and Arusha rock. Very pretty!

Love it there! Going back in just 18 days!

Have fun

Here's a link to the Animal Kingdom Lodge fact sheet page at AllEarsNet. If you look on the left side of the screen and scroll down, you will see links for more pages on AKL. Click on the photos - text link to see some great photos of the resort.

We've stayed here more than once. Our kids (boys) love it. The savannah view rooms are the best. When they were younger, we got a room with a queen and bunk beds. The rooms are a little smaller than at some of the other deluxe hotels, but there are slightly larger rooms available called either "junior" or "deluxe," don't really remember. We've stayed concierge once, so we could take the early morning safari that is offered.

I think kids really enjoy this one, but the atmosphere is fabulous for adults, too! We took binoculars, and our sons would sit on the balcony watching the animals. The savannahs around the hotel can feature different animals, so you might want to ask. We like the center one best, I think it's called Arusha. We had a real mosquito problem around the pool, so bring something along for that.

The dining options are great here, if you like something a little different. There are special programs for kids, including an evening storyteller around the great fire outside. There is a longer commute time from here to some of the parks, but the atmosphere is magical.

When I went to visit my friends staying there in May, they had a room that faced the pool. While sitting out on the balcony for just a short while, I had several bites. The mosquitos generally don't bite me as I'm not appetizing enough, but this time was the exception, it's one of the first times that I've had bites on disney property.

We stayed at AKL late April and had booked a 'Savanna View' as opposed to the Deluxe Savanna view. The layout of the like a forward & backward 'C', with the open ends pointing away from each other. Inside the 'C' is the deluxe savanna view. Our savanna view was a small spoke on the outside of the 'C'. Smaller savanna there, but still plenty of animals. And with our room near the end of the spoke, we were able to go out onto the fire stairways (recommended by some of the animal handlers) to get better views of the smaller savannas.

Either choice is really great

Gary.

I believe there are special kids activities there, and make sure to catch the fire pit story teller. On one of my visits to dine there I was walking off the Boma feast and stumbled across a chap telling traditional African stories. He was amazing - really engaging all the kid's attentions and getting them to join in, answering all his questions.

Was just there 2 weeks ago and it is amazing. I agree with the Zebra Trail and inner savannah 3rd or 4th floor. Third may be a bit better view as the 4th hides some of the animal Now as far as mosquitos, we never saw any.
