Hi everyone!!
We are staying at the new Vacation Club Villas at the AK Lodge. We are just wondering how to get to regular AK Lodge. Do we walk through the parking lot? Or is their a different walk way for us to walk through? Thanks!

I've stayed at Jambo House but haven't stayed at Kidani Village yet but I believe all of the theme park buses stop at Kidani first then stop at Jambo House before continuing on to their destination. The Downtown Disney bus stops at Jambo first then Kidani. There is also a walkway between the two.

You can walk along the sidewalk which connects the two resorts...about 12 minutes from lobby to lobby. You can also catch a bus, just find out which one (MK, DD, DHS, AK, Ep). We were there for 9 days at Christmas and found some buses stopped at Kadani first, then Jambo while others did the reverse. We thought the walk was fine (flat and easy), but if you want or need to take a bus, there will be one coming along to get you to the other resort. :)

The Downtown Disney bus is the only bus that stops at Jambo House first. So, you can take any other bus to go straight to Jambo. To return to Kidani, you'll have to wait for a DD bus.

The walk between resorts can be nice, but keep in mind that it's approximately half a mile long. If you've been running around the parks all day, you might prefer a short bus ride. :)

Has anyone stayed in both Jambo House and Kidani? I just booked my first AKV stay, and could have had a savannah view in either building. I picked Kidani simply because it was constructed as DVC rather than converted, but wonder if I should have chosen Jambo for any reason.

All advice gratefully accepted!!

Are you staying DVC? Cause I was told that now Kidani is fully open that was all that was available on points.

I have only stayed in Kidani, but No1 child has stayed in both, she prefered the BWV to Jambo, loved Kidani

Yes, DVC Studio, using points. Buddy, the very cheerful MS cast member, offered me my choice of Jambo or Kidani.

Since I am a fan of BWV, I'll take your No1 child's opinion as fact and leave my reservation the way it is. Thanks for the info.

I noticed that our paths may cross at WDW in October--should I be on the lookout for you or on the run from you?

I think you will be arriving in our last few days, which is No1s wedding, so beware men in kilts, we may be tired and emotional.

We just got back from a stay in Kidani. Here are a few thoughts:

Walking from Kidani to Jambo if it's cold (like in our case) or hot outside or raining, you can walk most of the way inside down the hall, then take the elevator or stairs down to level 1 and have only a short walk outside. It's not a bad walk (except in the rain).

Buses from Kidani to Jambo - ONLY take the theme park buses for this - NOT DtD. Also, make sure the bus is going to Jambo before you get on. There were many Theme Park buses we were on going back to the resort that stopped at Jambo first - therefore, would not be headed back to Jambo after the Kidani stop. DtD will stop at Jambo first then Kidani - you can hop on that bus to take you back to Kidani.

You can use your points at either Jambo or Kidani. You make that choice at ressie time. The top 2 floors of Jambo are DVC villas but were converted from regular rooms. Studios are larger in Kidani (not by much) but the Grand Villas at Jambo have a pool table in them. 2 BR at Kidani have an extra bathroom (3 total) compared to Jambo. Personally, we liked staying on a low floor (floor 2) because we had a better view of the Savannah. If we were on a higher floor, the trees would have blocked our view some. From our floor, we could see the whole Savannah. This was another benefit for us staying at Kidani. We didn't love the fact that there was no quick service restaurant at Kidani - and no breakfast option. We had to go over to Jambo for breakfast if we did not want to eat in our room. Also, we're not big "curry" food people so the dining option at Kidani is not our style. We had to go to Jambo for any other eating option.

I've stayed in a one-bedroom at both locations. I prefer Kidani, even though it doesn't have a quick service restaurant and the gift shop is smaller. Both resorts are lovely; I just liked the "feel" of Kidani better than Jambo.

Wow, that is good information about the views from the higher floors. I am not a big fan of curry, either, but thankfully we like eating breakfast in our room.

Thanks to all for the great input! I am now comfortable that I made the right choice with Kidani. Now all I have to do is convince DH that we should take this trip in addition to our October visit!!

You can't go wrong with either resort. We couldn't decide (because we really like both) where we wanted to stay for our next trip, so we booked the first 4 days at Kadani and the next 5 at Jambo. :)
