We are currently booked at Old Key West and are able to change to Kidani Standard View for $368.00 more with the Magical Holidays Discount.

Would you change?

This is for 4 nights Halloween Week.

The OKW 2-bedroom is approx. 237 sq feet larger than the Kidani Village 2-bedroom. The Kidani Village 2-bedroom will have 3 full baths where the OKW 2-bedroom will only have 2.

If it were me I would be fairly tempted by the chance to stay at Kidani (we haven’t, but it’s on our someday list). But $368 can buy a lot of ice cream bars (or a tour or souvenirs or tickets to the Halloween party, etc), so it’s dependent on whether that money will make a difference in your trip.

I probably wouldn't, unless you've really wanted to stay at Kidani and see this as a tremendous opportunity. While Kidani is beautiful and fun, it's relatively remote to all the parks except Animal Kingdom (obviously). So for a short 4-day trip, you'll spend more of that precious time riding to and from the other parks if you stay at AKL. For that reason (and because I personally love the relaxing mood of OKW) I probably wouldn't do it even if the price was the same. I'm sure others will say I'm crazy. :)

Do you think you'd spend a lot of time in a 4 day trip appreciating the amenities of your resort or would you be dawn to dusk park commandos?
Would you have access to your own car or would you be reliant on Disney buses?
Is your party big enough that a third bathroom would make a big difference? Or are you a smaller party that prefers more space?

Animal Kingdom Villas are truly unique and worthy of anyone's time...if they make the time. If you know you'll spend at least 1 day hanging at the hotel, or if you have at least one member of your party who couldn't really care less about going to the parks and would rather explore the hotel, then Kidani in a heartbeat. But if you plan to hit parks from open to close every day and the hotel is just the place you plan to shower shave and sleep, maybe it's better to save your money.

We've got a split stay coming up - 4 nights at Kidani, 5 at Bay Lake. Check in day, most of our second full day on property, and least the beginning of our check out day is just about being at Kidani.

That would be hard. We really and truly love both equally. I don't know how many people are going. If it is just 3 of us, the extra bathroom at Kidani feels a bit too much so we'd pick OKW. If we have an extra guest the extra bathroom is nice. I'm truly not sure that AKL is worth that much more than OKW though unless your bedrooms will be filled.

I'd suggest Kidani because there's so much more to offer at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Its location also isn't nearly as bad as the reputation might suggest, especially when compared to Old Key West. For that price over four nights, I'd spring for it.

Having stayed at both, I would change. OKW is nice and you are able to park pretty much right at your room. That's really about it. There's, IMO, nothing special about OKW.

AKL is beautiful and is definitely not in bad location. We've stayed in a standard room at Kidani and had no complaints.

I've stayed at both with my family. I think Old Key West is my favorite, however the extra bathroom at Kidani was nice. It was also very cool to walk out on the balcony and see giraffes, zebra, and other animals. My kids got a kick out of that.
