Animal Kingdom-- How long do you stay?

We get there at opening and are usually out around noon or before, depends on if we plan to eat there or not. We do Everest about 3-4 times, tough to be a bug, maybe the safari or dinosaur, then we leave.

My priority isn't even "rides" per say, but I'm just not really into the theme of AK. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but it's not for me. It also seems like the walkways are much narrower than the other parks, so I always feel squished even when it's not particularly busy.

If I'm by myself, I will maybe go one morning to see Finding Nemo (my favorite show in WDW) and I'll ride Everest. If I have time in between, I'll see Flights of Wonder, which is super cute.
In September, I'm going with my roommate, and AK is his favorite park. We'll probably go a couple of times for full "days" and then hop to another park after it closes.

We usually take a day at this park and the only ride we typically do is the Safari and maybe Kali if it's hot when go. I love the parade. IMO it's the best regular parade at any of the parks. I also love to explore the carvings on the Tree of Life. Flights of Wonder is a fun show and my family enjoys going on the animal trails. Out of all of the parks, I think AK has the neatest little details in design and theme, and I love taking time to look at all of those details. It's a great park to go to after having a couple of busy days at other parks.

You could easily do it in a half day, but it's nice to spend the whole day, especially since this is your first time. FOTLK is a phenomenal show and definitely worth seeing if it's open, and I enjoyed the Finding Nemo musical, too. The trails are really fun if you like animals. I consider it a full day park.

Need some advice...Worth using FP+ if I plan on being at AK at rope drop? Some how out of all my trips to WDW never did AK so want to get on the big three there. But if I park hop in late afternoon should I save my FPs for the next park?

We stay the whole day :) We love to check out the nooks and crannys, check out the shows and appreciate the park itself as well as the rides. I've never, personally, understood how it's a 1/2 day park! :)

I won't have any children with me and I don't think ill be going to the dino Part, except maybe dinosaur. I only have the safari, exp. everest, and kali rapids in mind to go on. A couple shows, but that's it. Maybe some of the trails. I'm feeling like this might be a half day park? Am I underestimating here? How long do you usually stay? I know there are restaurants but I am a picky eater so I wasn't planning on eating there.
I stay all day.

My day usually includes:

Safari (twice)
Pangani Forest Trail
Flights of Wonder
Maharajah Jungle Trek
FOTLK
Nemo
Dinosaur
Everest (for other people in my group)
Kali River (for other people in my group)
Rafiki's Planet Watch

I do eat there, so that takes up some time too.

I'm going with the folks. They have already made it clear they don't anticipate arriving at any park before 10. So, we'll do Safaris at least and see the shows. I anticipate leaving around 4pm.

If you're there at rope drop, I would save your FP+ for the next park.

Dinosaur, Safari, Everest, Rapids, trails and shows....thats the whole park! I'm not a big AK fan (to put it lightly) but I don't despise the place. I usually hit up Safari, Everest and Finding Nemo the Musical...plus a visit to the Dawa Bar of course. If you get there at park opening..9am...I'd say you're out by 1.

So yes...I say half a day. But if you're gonna really explore the trails, head to Rafikis planet watch, see all the shows...then you'll be there a little longer.

We go from rope drop to close and do multiple days per trip. Definitely do Flame Tree BBQ for one meal. Soooo good.

We normally go in time for rope drop and are our by two or three. We enjoy EE as there are few people early so it gives us the advantage to ride a couple of times. Follow that by It's Tough to Be a Bug, KS, do some sight seeing, break for lunch and enjoy some shows, all that and we are out by 2! Early day and we get to relax for the rest of the day

I have only been to AK once and rode 2 rides and sat in the boneyard for an hour while DGS dug for bones...then left. Kali broke my phone...I was in a tizzy after that and haven't been back. But my DD32 loves AK and will go from 10 am til it closes. I am sure she rides EE at least twice, it is one of her most favorite rides.

We went with friends on our last trip who had never been before. They wanted to do everything and it did with the exception of the rides at Dino-land (we did dinosoar) and it was too cold for the Kali rapids. We saw the Nemo show and Festival of the Lion King. Rode Everest twice. Saw the parade. Ate a nice meal at a quick service place. But were done by 4:00. We then hopped over to MK.

We go in at rope drop and ride the safari and Dinosaur a few times, browse a few stores and then leave. We've done the trails many times in the past, so we usually hop to another park.

We used to think this was a half day park, but that was because we did not realize all the things there is to do there. There are many shows to schedule around, rides, safaris, and trains to catch that we just were ignorant about. Plus the food there is pretty good, we like to stop at Yak n Yeti, have a cocktail and head over to Flights of Wonder. This park has really grown on us, even as they continue to give and take with street performers. Do your research, and you will see that there is much more to see.
