Andor (Rogue One prequel) Series on D+

Although I did end up enjoying Skeleton Crew, I can't say I was really excited about it... but this one I actually am. Particularly if the crew behind the first season maintains the same amount of creative control.

I'm also glad they're working in Saw Gerrera. I though he was an interesting character in Rogue One, but it seemed like most of his story got cut.

Excited for the return of the show fake fans bemoaned "Who Asked For This?" when it was first announced.
That was probably me when the show was first announced. I had very little interest in it initially. But now, it's easily the best thing SW has done in a long time.

Well I don't know if you're a fake fan if you thought Andor was a who asked for this, show. Of all the ideas for star wars D+ shows, Andor seemed lower on the list to me. Heck, I thought peacemaker was a ridiculous character to spin a show off of. And I said exactly, who wanted this? Turned out to be my favorite superhero show, dc or marvel. A lot of people said the same thing for guardians of the Galaxy. A tree and raccoon? Who asked for this? It just goes to show what a good idea and talent can do. Gilroy is no fan of star wars. So for him to sign on for a d+ series he had to have a good idea for it. I think if you asked fans before Andor was announced what D+ shows would you like to see. I don't know if Andor makes anyone's top 10. So "who asked for that" seems pretty relevant in my eyes. That doesn't mean it can't be great. It was just an interesting choice.

Or said another way, fans aren't the best at judging what is and what isn't good for a franchise, especially not before its released.

Yup, very often they don't. That's why it's up to the people creating the content to make us say, I didn't know I needed that. Grogu is a great example of that. If you said to me, the star of mando is going to be a baby yoda. I would have laughed and said that's a bad idea. Jon made me love it. So if you are going to go outside of what people want. You sure as heck need to make sure you nail it. That's the big problem with the sequels.

Walt did that all the time. People didn't know they wanted a Pirates boat ride until Walt built one. Then everyone wanted a Pirates boat ride at WDW and Disney cheeped out and cancelled Western River Expansion for Pirates.

Anybody else see this? First time linking, hopefully it works.

Yes, it looks very good. I think season 2 is going to be what most were expecting/wanting in season one. I haven't been super optimistic about any star wars lately, but this I am. When I say optimistic, I mean optimistic I'll like it. I still wouldn't be surprised if it gets overlooked again.
