Trip Report And When it's Time to Find Home. We know the Way!! Aue Aue

Good Morning all my Disney loving friends! We just hit the road and our first destination is Charlotte, NC. However, before I get ahead of myself, it is our normal crew, myself, Deighton (I turn the big 5 0 this year), Den my husband and our 3 kids. Hunter who is 20 and is now bartending... Camden 13 still an avid lacrosse player and fisherman and the youngest Brinley, 9 for now but on August 10 she will turn 10 in Disney World.

Here is a brief schedule of the next 2 weeks. As I stated earlier we will arriving in Charlotte, NC around 4 pm today. We have reservations at a southern BBQ restaurant (let the feeding frenzy begin). Tomorrow, we leave early to get to Savannah Georgia as soon as possible. We have a lot that we want to do here but the weather is not showing that it is going to cooperate. Hopefully the weather man is as wrong in Savannah as they are in
Pittsburgh!

After a night in Savannah, we are headed to Disney Springs for 2 days. We have reservations in Disney Springs and this is when we will do some resort hopping. Then it is home to The Boardwalk for 9 nights with a seven day hopper. Then back to Charlotte to meet up with my brother and his family. Then sadly home and back to the grind! I will post more details shortly!

Thanks for following and thanks to all of you who take the time to do Trip Reports! You have no idea how much it keeps me going💞

Back To School Summer GIF by LookHUMAN

Today is the last day!! No!!! No!!! It has gone by so fast!! I was up early but Den was snoring away. I really thought it best that he gets some sleep with 2 days of driving ahead. I will keep you posted on what it is next. The only definite is a reservation for Via Napoli tonight but with us you never know! The real only definitely is that we have to pack!

Where were we?? Awe...dinner at the Trattoria. Our last meal on property and the 4th place to sit and eat of the day...🙄🙀🤪 Again, we took a lot to go and enjoyed it for breakfast this morning!

Brin had tomato basil soup and it was outstanding. She recommends dipping green beans in your soup🤣

I had a yummy, perfectly dressed Caesar salad.

Den ordered pizza carne for an appetizer!! He ate one piece and everyone else declined. It made for a great breakfast.

Den had the shrimp pappardelle. He said, it was one of his favorite meals of the vacation. He ate the whole thing because he didn't want it to go to waste!

My great lasagna. I ate a little less than half. However, I did finish it at 10 pm while watching season 2, episode 2 of Wednesday.
I guess the goth humor makes me hungry...
Or maybe it was the bourbon...

Hunter ate all of his chicken parm and loved it!

Cam got pepperoni pizza and said he was'nt hungry but ate 75 percent of it. He must have loved it!

Brin said the salmon was the best she had all week but was pretty put off the tiny size of it🤣 She said there are more green beans than salmon. Cam, the French fry and mac n cheese eater, pointed out that is how meals are supposed to be balanced!

I am truly, sad that we missed Via Napoli but I am glad we gave the Trattoria a try again. I miss some of the old menu items but there pizza is spectacular and hence why it is hard to get a reservation. Of course, we discovered this on our last night after paying 11 to 13 dollars for a giant slice of pizza at the pizza wondow on a number of nights for the kids. I believe it is around 44 dollars for a whole pizza or 4 pieces of pizza which really equal 8 pieces of pizza. In the future, I will get a late reservation, have a drink and take pizza to go for around 20 to 25 dollars for delicious pizza!

Well we made the walk of shame a few hours ago. The children are sleeping and Den and I are discussing becoming annual pass holders which we have done for years. There are many issues with this thought process. First, we both work a lot and different hours so someone is always with Brin when she is off of school.
Second, the kids are all different ages and in all different directions especially Cam's lacrosse schedule.
Third, Den and I both have older parents who are not in the greatest of health. We were actually lucky to make it through this whole trip without Den's dads' passing but he is a fighter and hanging in there for a little bit longer. Thankfully!!

Having said all this, I believe the best plan is to wait a few more years for the kids to get older and let nature take it's course. We are lucky enough to be DVC!!

Before I say goodbye to The Boardwalk, I shall show you why, we have definitely out grown my beloved resort as we also outgrew Port Orleans.

Camden's full blow up mattress for 11 nights of the trip. On many occasions the comfiest bed of them all! It was nestled in front of the curtains that go to "the balcony " and right next to the pull out couch. Brin had the other corner of the couch that does not pull out but she was comfortable and happy until the boys kept her awake all night so this situation only lasted 2 nights! For 7 nights she slept next to me on couch cushions and I felt like I had a dog again!

Em slept on couch cushions during our 1-bedroom stay at The Boardwalk but she was a few years younger than Brin. The boys shared the pull-out.
Hunter's severe sunburn did not help the sleeping arrangements. It certainly didn't ho as planned with Hunter and Cam together with Brin on the blow up but everything worked. Brin sleeps like I do, once she is asleep she can sleep anywhere.

I will tell you that there were only 2 reasons I didn't love our room view. First, the shades were always closed for privacy purposes and we never used the "balcony". Second, I could not return the sunrise pictures that you send that keep me going all year through❤️

Goodbye Boardwalk! Lots of thoughts to come once we are settled at home. For now, I will continue this TR until we reach the Steel City and the new home of Aaron Rodgers!

I am not a Florida loving pool person nor am I a heated pool person. More on that later but the kids love it here and I sure don't miss the clown!
