I just noticed someting odd while watching a WWII video today. It seems as though I speak the languages from the three axis powers: Japanese, German, and Italian. I find this really really weird.

Just felt like sharing.

(And no, I'm not a communist, in case anybody wondered.)

Well.... being communist has nothing to do with the WWII Axis Powers..... not being obnoxious or rude, just making a point.

Now, she could be a Fascist.;) (Just teasing, sillyspook, we know you aren't one) I think it's an interesting commentary on how the Allies treated defeated nations. We learn these languages because they are still economically and culturally viable countries. I suspect , that had we lost the war, English would not be taught in German, Japanese, or Italian schools, and residents of English-speaking countries would be forbidden to speak it any longer.(although I may be wrong, and it might have been taught to make spying on us easier) Thank God, and our fighting men, that we didn't find out!
