Last time, we discussed elaborate Shopping experiences. These were generally constructing one’s own merchandise, such as building your own candy with Bing Bong. Many were related to Pixar.

Today’s challenge is to build a new Fantasyland in DLR. For this, Mr. Toad and Pinocchio have been gutted, and all the unused space nearby the Fantasyland theater is available. You may also take down Casey Jr and Snow White.

I personally find DLR's Fantasyland perfectly fine. It retains a high element of charm. But some of the rides are outdated. I'll try to adress that with this basic plan.

Pinnochio would be replaced by a Tangled Dark Ride, marked by the yellow outline. Red Rose Tavern could get a theme to the Snuggly Duckling if necessary. The Tangled Bathrooms would be set up in this area as well. This does not contradict much with Disney's already established theme.

The blue would be Frozen. I imagine two ways of doing the Frozen areas- one, there is no snow, with only pine trees to tell the difference in atmosphere, or there is snow pouring out of the area, "invading Fantasyland". Frozen Fantasyland could be marketed this way. The Storybook Canal Boats and Casey Jr Train could be rethemed to a journey through Frozen's wild atmosphere. The boats would now be ice barges and the train Kristoff's sled. These two attractions frequently interact on their Frozen tours and utilize the same interior showrooms. There would be a setpiece to Elsa's ice palace (let it go) and the trolls. Mr. Toad would also be replaced with Frozen. I think instead of another dark ride (which is already sorta accomplished with the boat and train), a show would go well here.

The red is the questionable part. Dumbo is right in the middle of the "Storybook land" and wouldn't sit well next to this Frozen Invasion. The most logical solution would be to retheme the spinners to Frozen, but this would cause great outrage including myself. Instead, Dumbo should be moved and upgraded like in the Magic Kingdom. Storybook Circus can go near It's a Small World (as shown in red).

That's my rough plan. Didn't put much thought into it and am unsure of the red part, but I think this is a unique way to incorporate Frozen without the standard "demolish Toontown".

Mr. Toad isn't really enough for a new ride to replace it, but it would be perfect for Storytime with Belle. Pinocchio will be replaced with Tangled (and snuggly duckling for Red Rose like OB said). Dumbo and the Casey Jr. Station will be moved and their space filled with a Princess Fairytale Hall type meet and greet. The whole main courtyard of Fantasyland will be given a brighter, more fantastical coat of paint. Less grounded and more storybook looking.

Storybook Circus will replace the Fantasyland theater as a New Fantasyland. Dumbo, a new Casey Jr station, a new Pinocchio puppet show, and a reworked version of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railways meant to keep the same basic premise but to fit in with the circus setting.

25 days reached!

Goal is... 52

Last time, we discussed how Disney could salvage their unreleased films as future attractions. Gigantic was the go-to choice.

Today, we discuss new attractions for the lands of Touchstone City, a park centered around the adult side of The Walt Disney Company and it’s acquired IP. The lands include Danger Street, Dark Alleys, Lovely Lane, Tech Expo, Theater District, Guffaw Inc, Black Light District, Touchstone Zoo, Enchantment Alley, the Touchstone Museum of the Arts, and Historic Touchstone City. Remember that all of these lands are open to original IP in addition to the acquired properties.

It might help if we narrowed down more of what the different lands are and what ones we want.

Danger Street themed to action movies (Die Hard, spy car chases, things like that), Lovely Lane themed to musicals/rom coms (Mama Mia, Devil Wears Prada, shops, restaurants, shows), Tech Expo themed to sci-fi (Alien, Predator, etc), and the Museum themed to more fantasy or historical type stuff might be a good starting set of lands. Keep us from spreading ourselves too thin.

What do you guys think of that? Wanna swap out any of these lands for other lands?

As far as rides inside the lands go, I have a few ideas for Danger Street!

I think it would help add a lot to the excitement and action packed feel of the land if the rides and paths were very interconnected. Full of kinetic energy.

Have Nakatomi Tower (Die Hard) as a drop tower ride in the center of the land, an outdoor rollercoast themed to some action movie surrounding the land and going over the paths (like a more intense and more raised up Slinky Dog), and a Radiator Springs Racers/Test Track type ride themed to a car chase weaving under/over the paths abd under the rollercoaster.

Make it all feel connected and crazy!

Thanks for narrowing the lands down! I always thought maybe I had a few lands too many. It there is a kids/Blue Sky area it should be the Zoo. Dark Alleys would have both Crime and Horror. They would both probably be expansion lands, though.

And I like your description of how Danger Street would be interconnected between in every attraction.

We could totally add in the zoo or cut different land for it or something. I just know that projects with too big a scope tend to wind up being overwhelming lol

I really like the Zoo as a setting for a Blue Sky type kidzone land. And a more adult park could really use that!

Now we're speaking your language lol. Any ideas for a Blue Sky themed zoo area? Or a zoo themed Blue Sky area? Either way lol

I think Tech Expo should be roughly the same size as Danger Street, because that’s most likely the two lands where most E-Tickets are clustered. Should the city have a parade?

A parade with some big balloons to kind of mimick the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in style would be awesome!

I agree completely with what you said Pi the lands may be too overwhelming once progress begins. I think the magic number should be 5 lands, with one being this park's mainstreet.

However I'd think the rest of the roster could be filled with Danger Street, Tech Expo (maybe the X-S Tech Expo as a nod to the past?), Touchstone Zoo, and Touchstone Museum Park. I'd say these lands as they represent core genres in film that will never fade similar to Walt's way with Disneyland. Furthermore I think aesthetically these are the most diverse, and would allow for each area to have its own distinct flavor, and it's own identity when it comes to IP placements.

How about Kingsman? Everyone loves a good spy film, and the franchise houses some great action sequences along with scoring. Throw in the satirical elements that poke fun at the spy genre, and it may lead itself to be a rather fun action pack ride.

I was thinking a jungle/forest themed zoo which lends it self to some of Blue Sky's biggest IPs. It could include Epic, Rio, Ice Age, and if you want to stretch it FernGully and Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Last time, we discussed the lands of Touchstone City, and narrowed them down to five. Danger Street, X-S Tech Expo, Touchstone Museum, and Touchstone Zoo, in addition to the Main Street equivalent. Kingsman and Ferngully were amongst the films discussed as attractions.

Today’s goal is to create a new hotel for Universal Orlando!
