This was not always best for them, and I for one resented it at times, but in retrospect, it certainly was no worse than the problems children have today when they are exposed to many things too early in life.

my thought was..if Walt drank, there ought to be restaurants serving alcohol at Disneyland...but, then the next person said he didn't in front of kids, and it all came together. However, I wonder why they have never added alcohol-serving restaurants over the past 46 years...Epcot is like a binge-drinker's heaven...I remember watching the dad from Roseanne, when the family went to disney world, just go from country to country drinking..:king: oh....uh....drinking is bad! Yeah...I've always found it funny that they serve alcohol next to pools, when people have been known to die in hot tubs after drinking...I guess that's what the life guards are for...

Interestingly, when Epcot first opened, it wasn't that easy to get a drink. You had to go to a restaurant and order food in order to get a drink. I remember, at the time, being surprised at the abundance of alcohol available at Busch Gardens, and later, Universal Studios. It has only been within the last ten years or so that beer & wine have been readily available in the WDW theme parks (except for MK.)

I'm not sure that Epcot is really a binge drinker's heaven...with the prices they charge, you need to spend a small fortune just to get a little buzz on! (or maybe that's just me ;) )

I know this thread is drifiting a bit, but if anyone wants to see a pic of walt's apartment in DL check out the newest Disney Magazine. They have a pic of it, promoting the "follow in walt's footsteps" behind the scenes tour.

Castle Appartment

I purchased a book at WDW on my last visit."Since the World Began" It has a part in it about the building of the Castle. It states "Space for an appartment for the Disney family was designed and built inside the castle's upper floors, but it has never been compled or used." Page 35 last paragraph. This book has a wealth of information in it from ground breaking up to the 25th anniversary.

Going back in Feb!!!!!!!!!!!!

:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

BTW: When is the Web Cam going to be back online?????

I have come to the conclusion that the web-cams are permanently gone. They don't even have the "we will get these back up as soon as possible" message up anymore more...budget cuts? (it costs money to have those things going...) I liked them..

Disneyland Information

Yes, Walt had an apartment in Disneyland located over the firehouse on mainstreet. He used it quite alot. He also started a family apartment above the ride, Pirates of the Caribbean but he passed away before completion and it was turned into the Disney Gallery. As for Club 33, it is pricey to join then you have yearly dues on top of that. The wait list is 2-3 years very selective. I put in my application for membership a month ago. That gives me alot of time to decide if I want to pay the big bucks or gives me enough time to save it lol. Have a Disney Day!!!
