American Idol

So... what does Disney do w/ it when the show goes off the air? That will be sooner rather than later, I'm sure. It was a neat idea at 1st, but it's a Fox show after all not ABC. LOL.

Oh..They can make something really redunandt....o_O
Don't Trust The B%*# In Apartment B Interactive Experience
Modern Family: The Musical
The Bachelor Musical
ABC News Extreme!!!!

I mean Come on....What show cursed that friggin theater??

Ooooooohhhh Yeah....That...Awkward....

The only honest thing I can think of it being used for would be either another Superstar Television or..
America's Funniest Home Videos (Pretty much just another set they can use when they want to film out in WDW)

I think most of the hate comes from the fact it used space and resources we would rather have seen used for something else. But at worst, the show is harmless. It does not deserve the hate it gets on its own merits.

I agree....I think of it more like a fad...been there, done that. :p

The only thing I do not like is they force everybody into the first two rows.
What is wrong with sitting back a few rows and having a bit of elbow room?

They could put in Caligula the Ride and it would fit. Probably be better than Sounds Dangerous...

I am now morbidly curious as to how that would work both as a "ride" and in a Disney theme park.

But I can't honestly say it would be worse than Sounds Dangerous.

There's actually two reasons.

One- It makes it appear to the guests on stage that there are more people in the audience than there really are (instead of everyone being scattered in the 1000 seat auditorium).

Two- The camera crews have to take audience shots. And if everyone is scattered...all you get is shots of very empty seats around scattered people. Should that footage ever go to the real show...it may be an embarrassment. If you notice the video...the camera crew will go through great efforts to not show empty seats on screen. Especially for the Finale...which is broadcast outside on the big screen.

I've only been to it once and it was only for one show. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I actually enjoyed it. I was totally into the voting! But I do agree that it doesn't fit Disney, and I couldn't help thinking that I was missing other things while I was there.

The last two times we went it was packed, they had to turn people away, so people enjoy it. Again there is something for everyone at WDW. I'm not a big fan of it, but my kids are.

My family loves AIE. The production of the show is amazing and when the show has a good finale (90% of the time it is), its the most fun we have all day. I normally see it 2-3 times a visit. I don't understand the hate. Nobody gives it a chance and I find that upsetting. Last finale I went to their was a guy named Luke and he had an AMAZING voice. It was radio ready and the crowd gave him a standing ovation. One of the judges said he had the beat voice he's ever heard since being a judge for the show and all threw judges agreed he can win AI. It gives people the opportunity to make their dreams come true by performing on a stage and a chance to be on the show. Making dreams come true is a motto for Disney and that's why the show isn't out of place and fits perfectly with DHS

At least with Millionaire there was the trivia aspect to give me something to do. With AI I just don't care. I stopped caring about the TV show, so why should I get excited about a mini version in a theme park?

I love AIE most the of time. It gives me and DS the chance to ride RNRC and TOT a lot while DW and DDs go see the show. The only time I hate it is when DW insists DS and I have to come along.;)

I don't hate it, but I feel that the space could have been used for something more timeless. Sooner or later the hype for American Idol will dwindle down to nothing (it sort of already has), and this attraction will hardly be able to function. I'd have thought Disney had learned its lesson after Who Wants to Be a Millionaire...

OMG! And I loved Who Wants To Be A Millionaire too. I could have sat there all day. I guess I just love everything Disney does.
