Hello,

Had a day off work of making dreams come true, so decided to go check out the new American Adventure. The rumors were true, the ending video montage was altered. It is a few minutes longer and now contains scenes from 9/11, oprah, lance armstrong, fire figters/police officers, ect. It is very moving. A few members of the audience (12:45pm show) were crying, including myself!

BTW, gotta love the Voices of Liberty. I am so auditioning for the cast Candleight Chior this yera so I can work with some of them!

I was there recently. I know that even the "classic" attractions need to be updated, but, IMHO, an AA-reenactment of the finale of the Sopranos has no place in the American Adventure.

Interesting! I'll have to go see it next chance I get.

There's no audition for the cast choir, you just have to signup on the Hub when it's time. They'll make announcements in advance. Be quick, though, because some vocal parts fill in less than 5 minutes!

I just got back from seeing it. Very tastefully done, in my opinion. None of the footage was cut out of the film (at least that I noticed), things were only added. The song Golden Dreams was slightly restructured to allow for the additional footage. The various pictures go by very fast, so it was tough to take all of it in, but I definately remember the following (in no particular order):
  • The ruins of the World Trade Center
  • The firemen raising the WTC flag over the wreckage site
  • Various members of the Armed Services
  • A kid in a crowd holding up a sign saying "You Are My Heros" (sic)
  • Tom Brokaw
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Willie Nelson
  • Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr.
  • Lance Armstrong
  • The Miracle on Ice hockey team

There were several more, but I don't remember exactly who (it was a long day). In addition, there were a few changes made to the final shot of the montage with the flyover of the Statue of Liberty. There are now semi-transparent images of children waving sparklers around the border of the shot. There are also a great deal of fireworks (I don't remember if there were fireworks to begin with, but if so, there are now a great deal more).

Overall, I have a very favorable opinion of the new sequence.

I was at the first (noon) show today so i guess i was one of the first guests to see it! I went with a friend who had never seen it before which made it very difficult not to get too excited about the new additions. I love the new scenes - tastefully done. I think one scene you guys forgot to mention was the one with bush sr and clinton. I forgot my video camera unfortunately so no video - sorry!

Man, I sure can't wait to see the film...I've been wondering for years when they were going to add to the finale. The original version was emotionally moving and I can't imagine how the audience reacts to documented events that have occured in recent history.

what about Lucille Ball and Elvis??? ;)

Ok, add them to the list.

I honestly dont recall the video portion at the end, so this could be where my ignorance on the issue rests. I recall Ben Franklin and Mark Twain on the Statue of Liberty Flame and the statues lighting up on the outskirts of the theatre. I could have this totally wrong as I have not seen the show in a couple of years.

there is a BIG montage of America's cultural icons, which include political figures, as well as those who have had influence on our media and entertainment....

No Colbert! I hate it now. It used to stand for truthiness and Democracy, but now since they left out the greatest figure in modern history it is blasphemous! You can take that new video and put up your hiney!

He's actually from SC and my relative is his good friend. So yeah! I'm really excited to see it though.

Well if Disney ever has an Internet poll on who to add to the American Adventure, we know who will win.
