Ambiance and Presentation.

Good Morning All, Apart from the quality of a meal,they are several things I look out for,the sparkle off the wine glasses,the gleaming cutlery in the correct position,the wine waiter/waitress pouring from the right hand with their left behind their back,and so on.But two of the things that I find important to make my gastronomic evening complete is the ambiance and presentation.Now iam a rookie here,only been to seven table services at WDW but my vote goes to Jikos.The table was set perfect and everything was sparkling and the presentation of our main courses and especially the sweets were awesome,and the way the Walls changed colour to a warm orange sunset was breathtaking making our evening delightful.So where in the world would you say has the best ambiance and presentation to make your night one to remember?:wave:

Jiko is one of our favorites. I agree with everything you said and we have had the pleasure of some fantastic servers offering wine accompaniments that were right on the mark.


Narcosis is another favorite. We enjoy the ambiance here as well. Enjoying a wonderful meal gazing out over the water toward the Magic Kingdom. We often make our reservations so that we can enjoy the firworks show while dining.

Some day soon I hope to experience Victoria and Albert. It's on the list.

Not Many.

Jiko is one of our favorites. I agree with everything you said and we have had the pleasure of some fantastic servers offering wine accompaniments that were right on the mark.

Sadly not many,Rose & Crown had amazing views for illuminations but presentation was just ok,unlike Le Cellier where presentation was very good but ambiance was poor,almost too dark and tables too close to each other,infact I thought I was in an underground shelter,and noisy.

California Grill has the entire package and if you like a good steak give the Yachtsman Steakhouse in Disney's Yacht Club Resort a try. I am a vegetarian and they presented me with a fantastic plate. My husband and parents said it was one of the best pieces of fillet mignon inside the park.

The Grand Floridian Cafe was actually very nice. The service and presentaion were great. I was under the impression it was an upscale hamburger joint and I did not think so at all.

Since most places I eat at hand me my food thru a drive up window, I don't consider myself to be anywhere near an expert on ambiance and food presentation, but I do know good surroundings when I see them. That being said, When I order my food at Flame Tree Bar B Que at Disney's Animal Kingdom, I carry my tray to the farthest seating area I can find. This area has lake side tables with a great view of Expedition Everest, and yet, it's quiet enough to where my wife and I feel like we have the whole park to ourselves...and this, my friends is, to us, as good as it gets.:animwink:

One of the most impressive meals I have had. The ambiance and decor are elegant and tasteful, and the service beyond compare.
during my last vist a fruit fly managed to find his way into my wine. i watched him fly in and commit suicide, it was not their fault, he was not there when poured, but OMG- the concern shown by the wait staff was almost funny! it was as though they took his death personally! they were appalled that such a thing could happen in their establishment. I had new wine before i finished saying "there's a fly in my wine".

Love this! I totally get it! When the company is good, the food is tasty and the view is one of near perfection you have a perfect moment! I like your style!

We ate on the 2nd floor balcony at night, relaxing - but still has that bustling feel - so hard to explain.

Just talking about ambiance I would say the San Angel Inn. It immerses you in that pavillion and it is quite peaceful just watching the boats go by.

I would also vote for the Kona Cafe as far as ambiance. The Poly itself has such a tranquil feeling.

There used to be a place in DTD called the Village Restaurant which was higher scale and that had a beautiful feel to it as well. Another higher end one not mentioned is The Flying Fish.

I will certainly agree that the setting in the San Angel Inn is beautiful. Even when the pavillion is crowded there is a certain quiet, peacefulness that takes over the area. With this said, I have yet to have a meal here that deserves any kind of accolade. I admit, it has been a while since we last ate here due to continued disappointment. I would be willing to give it another try if someone told me it had changed.

I agree about San Angel Inn - unique, "cooling" effect on a warm day when you sit down for a dinner in the dark.

We ate at V&A and my then wife did not eat fish. We of course mentioned this well ahead of time, and they set up a non-seafood menu for her. However the amuse bouche is not on the menu, it is whatever the chef feels like whipping up.

It was a truffled poached egg topped with Iranian cavaiar. I had my wine poured and then the dishes came out. When the waitress set them down, she realized that it had "fish" on it. It really was no big deal, but you would have thought they had brought out a plate with a fly in it. They took both mine and hers away (because we HAD to be served at the same time), made two completely new ones, so they would both be the same temperature, and then re-served them, along with a new glass of wine for me (I got to finish the first one) - so excellent service, and bonus wine.
