i always thought the dvc was a "hoytee-toytee" rich mans club, (lol, sorry but that term makes me laugh) but after reading the south wing is safe post, with the rumors of a fort wilderness dvc redisign, now im officially on the side of "hating" dvc period. i cant be the only one who thinks that disney excludes a large group of people from certain things now? not being able to stay at the wilderness lodges dvc resort or stuff like that is annoying, but it sounds like now the tide is turning to a dvc only theme park, which would exclude regular people from visiting. i just hated the dvc idea ever since i stopped at a dvc location and read up on it.

You can stay at any DVC resort you would like. Wilderness Lodge Villas always has rooms available, it just depends on when you make a reservation. And their would never be a DVC only themepark. I think DVC makes up less than 20% of all rooms on property. How would that be a smart decision limiting who can access a park.

respectfully disagree here... no one can blame Disney, as a corporation, for offering people choices in their vacation. DVC is really not that hoighty-toighty... it's more for people who cash up front. I can get enough points for 10 nights at the Beach Club for under 20K... for 50 years. The only reason why I haven't joined DVC is the fact that I don't have 18K right now. I live in one of the most expensive cities in the US where people joyfully spend 500 plus a night to stay in our hotels... and that is just to come to a city. In the long run, DVC is an AMAZING deal considering you're locking in a rate over a long span of time. Think of it as investing in a futures contract and making a return in the long run.

I got the big booklet & DVD just recently for DVC..It would be nice to do it..But when I saw the starting price at $19,200:eek: I'm just greatful to at least enjoy staying at a value resort for 2 weeks.

That is $384 a year which is less than some spend per night.

In the past 24 hours we've had a thread complaining about WDW holding back DVC units for non-DVC owners, rather than giving owners priority, and now we have one complaining that there aren't enough available for non-DVC owners.

Sounds like they can't win on this one. ;)
