I actually like the idea of a Circus theme and how the area looks, but the substance is lacking. The entire one side of the land with the tents with a terribly poor use of space. Putting a ride instead of (or in addition to) the M&G would have made a dramatic difference in the quality of the land.

But it is pretty.
I agree. I think it looks nice. It's an improvement for sure over the clearly we-never-meant-this-to-be-permanent Toontown, but...it's just lacking. There's such a big, empty space where it seems like something should be. Especially now that the FastPass machines are gone, that entire "lounge" area feels so empty. We headed back there one evening to steal a few minutes of power to recharge our phones and it was literally us and the world's most bored CM ever. Not a single other person came back there.

I do like the selection of treats you can get in the Big Top store - including the same freshly made caramel popcorn that you can get in Germany - but beyond that, there's little reason for us to spend time back there. I don't mind that it's more kid-focused, but I do feel like there's a missed opportunity. They took it 75% of the way there and then just....stopped.

I like Storybook Land much better than Toontown. Toontown just wasn't very well done, especially in comparison to the Disneyland version. I mean, how did they get this:

And this:

And this:

After having been to the DL version, I just felt like ours was pathetic.

I do like Storybook Circus. I should also mention that I'm a Dumbo fan. I think the double Dumbos with the play area and the air conditioned queue is very nice. My parents are laughing that they didn't have all that when I screamed my way onto Dumbo at age 2 and now it's too late. There could have been more done to that area, but I like it.
Shame we didn't get a Rodger Rabbit ride at WDW in Toon Town.

I think Storybook Circus just needs one more thing. I can't say exactly what it is... but some sort of attraction?

I think the Dumbo upgrade is really great, and the M&G is fine (I'm too big for Barnstormer).

So maybe a show of some sort? Maybe move Philharmagic over to SC and dream up an encompassing Villains attraction to drop in Philharmagic's place in FL?

I may be in the minority on this, but the Roger Rabbit ride at Disneyland was actually one of my least favorite attractions there. The queue was very well-done. And while the detail in the ride is great, the constant spinning and turning in circles in the car made it extremely difficult to actually focus on any of the ride detail and take it in. We got off the ride and I felt like I had literally missed half of what was going on.

Yes, I agree that the queue is great!

I'm not a huge fan of the circus area, except the dual dumbos at night which is fantastic and look beautiful with all the lighting.
As far as the rest of it, kiddie areas aren't my genre so whatever.

I never really like Toontown either and that when I was a kid. Storybook Circus is just a land to past before getting to the train. Plus I hate hate hate clowns

They easily could have fit in the DL Pinocchio ride next to or instead of the M&G tent (with some re-positioning of structures but there's easily space). Just have the outside being Stromboli advertising his show of a puppet without strings, but have the ride inside be the story of Pinocchio. Easy thematic fit, cheap to build (as both a clone and a simple dark ride), increased capacity, actually given people something to do on that side of Storybook Circus.

Must have been too obvious to do.

I think the original concept for the ride was proposed for DHS and I still think that would be a great place by making a Toontown-ish area (perhaps themed as to where the cartoon characters "work" and film their shows/movies). Would really help out with the lack of all ages rides in that park.
