Am I the only one who likes the current version of Journey into Imagination?

Last Christmas, I go down to WDW for my first time in approximately 15 years, and I ride JII. And I liked it. It was fun. It helps that Eric Idle is in it, as I'm a sucker for Monty Python and it's members.

So imagine my surprise when I join this board and see the flat out loathing people have for this version. I mean, I get that this is different from the original version (which I've ridden), but I wouldn't necessarily say it's worse. Not as good certainly- it's like comparing Die Hard 2 to Die Hard. But I just don't see it as the "KILL IT WITH FIRE" attraction that others seem to.

I never rode the original. JII certainly isn't the worst ride I've been on. It's cute and has a story that is easy to follow. Not my favorite but we always ride it.

Well, when you compare the majesty of the original, others might turn this version away.

IMO, the ride is just strange. It makes no sense. No climax, no story. I've ridden all three versions, and the current version is probably the worst. Heck, I still go on it to take a break from walking and to get some AC, other than that, the ride's pointless.

On a side note, I love visiting the pavilion and seeing Captain EO. I know it's corny, but I like corn :)

The original JII was an attraction you didn't realize was good until it was gone. While most people left the ride humming the theme song, at the end of a day of touring, it was just one part of the enjoyable mosaic of dark rides at EPCOT Center.

Without the Horizons and World of Motion tentpoles, the new JI(Y)I sticks out like a sore thumb, especially when compared with what was there before. Not a horrible attraction, not a great one, either.

It's my daughter's favorite ride and there's never a line so we ride it many times each trip. However, I do miss the original and would love to see them plus the ride up a bit.

Yes
The ride vehicles on the current implementation are much better, however the content displayed is lesser quality and less dense in detail. In comparison the whole environment feels like an open warehouse where the previous version had tightly controlled sight lines from entrance to exit.

I think the current version is fine. I do. However, it's difficult to avoid mentally comparing it with what it used to be like, and to find the current version a woefully truncated and watered-down echo of how terrific the first incarnation was, both of the attraction and the lively imagination stations (not sure what precisely the area was called) that followed.

I ride it all the time..The only thing I absolutely hate in that entire ride is this..

It has no purpose, I still do not see it as a "Tribute" To the moon from Horizons many say it's doing, Just hearing him sing would be find and that's it...Any time I see it now I think of the Little Caesars moon...And he's as creepy as this..

When making the rounds of the Future World attractions we always visit Imagination! Gotta admit tho, the first version of it was better.
