Am I the only one that hates the whooptie doo review?

Been five times (as a couple twice and with family and friends the other); I guess you'll have to put us down for, 'Love it'. And either fortunately or unfortunately, I personally, have been picked as Clair's first interest (in the show); I'm kind of a shy guy so I surely wasn't looking for the attention (at all) but still muddled through it (and had fun). If you've been there, and the song revolved around South Carolina, it might have been me. :ROFLOL:

Why the attacks on the OP? The reason for a variety of shows being offered is that not everyone likes all types of shows. You offer enough variety hoping there is something for everyone. Not everyone likes every attraction and not everyone likes every restaurant, and not everyone likes every snack, and not everyone likes every resort. And all of that is ok because we all have different tastes and they are equally valid. So why jump on somebody just because they don't like a particular show??
I don't see anyone attacking the OP. No one has insulted him/her, called him names, etc. About the closest thing to an attack is several simple "yes" answers to his question "Am I the only one?". So far it looks like that affirmative answer might be correct.

Put me down as someone who loves the show. It's usually one of the first dinners I will do when I get on property. Why? Because it reminds me to laugh at the silly moments, don't take everything so seriously, and just let go and have fun.

Is the show Hamlet? Nope. But that's ok. I will see Hamlet another time. When I see the HDD, I want to chuckle at 'bear' puns.

I wouldn't use the word "attack" but there was some definite possibility of snarkity-snark in statements like "It's just you because it's an awesome show" or questioning why the OP would even start the thread to ask the question. The person asked because he/she was curious. I can sympathize. People rave about awesome Disney food every day from the same places I've been at WDW and I often wonder why my socks weren't knocked-off, too. Ya just wonder sometimes, I guess. I've seen threads that I felt were but I opted not to post.

When someone uses the phrase "that annoying never ending show" in their OP, it goes past simply asking......

Snark is about as far as I would go as well, but when asking a question like that it has to be expected. Now if someone had come in "Are you a #$%$%& idiot!!!!!??" attacked would work. So far everyone is being pretty civil.

We went once. That was enough. It was fun and the food was fine. But it's pretty expensive for what my family thought was just OK.

my dad got picked when i was a kid, i fell on the floor laughing, my mom literally wet herself, as he pranced across the stage in a pink tutu and wand spreading pixie dust everywhere. The people at the table next to us took a poloroid of it and i have it on my desk to this day. I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!!!!!!:sohappy:

Presumably you mean the Hoop Dee Doo Revue.

And no, I'm sure there are lots of people who dislike the Revue, just as there are lots of people who love it (myself being one of them).

If you didn't like it, you didn't like it. You're entitled to your opinion, but what was the point of starting this thread? Are you not comfortable with your own opinion? Do you need vindication from others?

Hahahahahaha! Awesome. :ROFLOL:

I was in a conversation on how great that show is. Never again will I put my self thru a dinner and that annoying never ending show. It was like having to watch an hour long version with the electrical parade with the theme music playing full force all the way thru.

I wasn't a fan either. Plus the food was gross:hurl:

Oh yeah. Definitely one's choice of words could impact the responses they get. I'm with ya on that. :animwink:

Yeah, I agree. Just pointing out where someone might've thought a response harsh. Seriously. It's words in black & white. It's not always easy to get the inflections or seriousness vs. light-heartedness across in words alone. Heck, even smilies don't get the full emotion captured. It's the nature of the beast and goes in both directions. Some people may interpret something as negative that wasn't meant to be while other will see something being just ducky when really it was meant to be a smack-up-side-da-head. :D

The food (for the most part) wasn't anything spectacular, but man, I do love Disney cornbread, and the strawberry shortcake (chicken was also delicious). The show is definitely corny, but if you can't laugh at that, what can you laugh at around Disney?

We went in August 2011. It was our first time at the HDDR and we loved it. Thought the food was decent, the show was corny (as its suppose to be), and did I mention it was all you can drink Bud products. Definetly worth it for us and we will now do this show every trip. It was way more entertaining than the SOA dinner.

We did it once and that was enough. There are far better restaurants to dine at then waste an evening eating mediocre food and not so great entertainment. Everybody has different taste so to each there own :)
