No not at all, I don't get them to keep as such but there are a fair few times when as a group of five we don't use them all... if none of us use them or we have a few left I will often offer them to others, but if it is the odd one I keep it as a souvenir..

If you're concerned about your concience, just ask a CM to print you out a dud Fastpass or use a expired ticket to get one. It'll have the date and time and everything, it'll just say "Not a Valid Fastpass" on it.

I've used the FP for scrapbooking too! I've even had CM just let me keep mine when I asked if I could because I scrapbook them....... They make a great addition to scrapbooks!

If the likely hood is that I can not use them. I try to give them away. People looked shocked at you when you try to give it to them. Like a stranger offering a child candy.
I like to do it...good Karma. I do not see anything wrong about keeping them for a scrap book either. It is a nice little touch to a scrap book.

Oh my God. You get that too? LOL :ROFLOL: I thought it was just me. Like the people thought I was stalking their children or something. I stopped giving away my FPs that I was not going to be able to use because of this. LOL

I always end up with pockets full of unused fastpasses at the end of the day. I've never thought anything of it. I'm sure I just throw them away most of the time.

I don't see anything wrong with it myself. The slots go anyway so if you didn't have it, somebody else would. If everybody did it there'd be a mess, but I doubt this happens. Besides by not being there someone else rides instead from the standby or the FP line moves that little quicker, it's not like they're sending out empty ride vehicles because of it

If I'm not using mine then personally I try to give them away. Sometimes it's amazing how much hard work giving them away can actually be, it can be like you're trying to sell timeshare :brick:

I probably have about 60-80 FP's sitting in our room. They're nice little keepsakes and it just means that 2-4 more people got through the stand by line faster because we didn't show.

I have 2 framed displays of all the FP's available, surrounding a large Mickey character picture. I have constantly updated the collection with newer years tickets when I go. When friends go to WDW I request them to pick up spare FP's for me.

Although I don't think you should take my advice.... I don't think it's a good idea to do that at rides that has their fast passes all gone by 11. I know that Soaring has many days that there are no fast passes by that time, so yes, in that case you are making it so someone else can't get one. I think for any other ride that you can still get one at 4 or 5 should be fine.... but, maybe you could ask a CM for a fast pass from the day before? (providing you were there then?) I miss out on going on Soaring all the time due to lack of fast passes.... so yes, people do miss out on rides.

But this is not true!

Nobody does not get to go on Soarin' because you didn't use that fastpass. All it means is that one person from the standby line will get to go in your place. It is not an issue at all. No need to feel guilty - on the contrary, instead of using it for yourself you just gave up your seat to somebody else! You made somebody happy in the process.

That is not completely accurate. If an attraction runs out of Fastpasses and the standby line is 2 hours, chances are the person that would have gotten the fastpass now won't go on the ride.

Again, they have every right to take the fastpass home with them, so in that respect, no, they're not doing anything wrong. However, to say it wouldn't effect the process if they didn't get one for a keepsake, is not accurate all of the time. For something like Mickey's Philharmagic where few people use FP, it means nothing. For a ride like Soarin' or Toy Story Mania, it absolutely can mess the system up. Granted, I'm sure not enough people do this to make a difference, but it's one of those things that if you start doing it, then someone else does it, then so on and so on, it can become a problem.

I'm a scrapbooker too and I think you're fine to do this. Of course it means you can't use the FP, but really the only person who is inconvenienced then is you.

However I have noticed that some of my older FPs are badly faded - you can still see the ride logo but the printed part with the return time is almost unreadable.

You could also take a photo of your FP - then you can still use it, but you have a permanent, reprintable memento.

Hmmm. I wonder if anyone has actually tried printing their own FPs? :drevil:

I usually give mine away if I know I am not going to make it. Although, I have ended a day with an unused fastpass. That's great idea keeping them.

With the system in place right now you can swipe your card and get an active fastpass. Then swipe your card again and get one that says:

EE Fastpass by Mongo mil, on Flickr

This way you can still use yours and have one for the scrap book.

Of course they have. They used to sell them on ebay for hundreds of dollars. Much to Disney's credit, they finally took action and stopped this practice from occurring. Besides, there are now barcodes on every fastpass, so trying to make them on your own would be futile.
