Great rates, there!

Funny how the airlines that aren't screwing people with extra fees and higher costs for everything are the only ones actually making money.

Allegiant and Southwest were the only to airlines to post a profit in the last quarter of 2008.

Good for you! Being from SD too we know how expensive it can be to fly in and out of here. We hope to hit some good deals next year like you did. Have fun!

Great rates!! I am flying Allegiant Air from Huntington, WV on March 15 to Fort Lauderdale for $29 down. I will fly out of St Pete/Clearwater on March 20 for $29 back for me and $59 back for my girls.

Don't know why my girls were more expensive, but I am not going to complain. Still good rates.

We Flew out of Des Moines with Allegiant. Great flight, straight shot, no lay overs, no worries!!!!!!!!

From here they fly into Sanford, which is nice in someways. Nice small airport, not many lines. Only downfall for some is no Magical Express.

I just found out about Allegiant last week. Now, instead of paying $600 or more per person, I can drive the couple of hours to Grand Forks or Fargo instead! Yay!

make sure you check their fees, I checked their rates and they were for example: $29 down/ $69 back but the fees were as followed, $14 dollars for seat selection, $5 preffered boarding, $80 bagage fee (2 bags) and $30.70 in taxes and fees. so really it costs closer to $158.70 down and $198.70 back, fly southwest if you can, no hidden fees!

I still won't fly Allegiant. No fees be damned, I refuse to fly on a Mad Dog, and that's their entire fleet.

I'll take Jetblue or Continental any day of the week.

I just booked Allegiant Air out of Shreveport, LA for our May 8-16 trip. We got fares of $29 each way. You're right about the fees. We're cutting back on what we're packing so we're down to 1 suitcase each. That was $15 a piece, plus we did get the $5 priority seating, and the other fees. It was still a lot cheaper for us with all those fees, than with any other airline. We had planned to drive down, but flying on Allegiant still saved us about $1000.

I wish Magical Express went to Sanford too. We reserved Mears for transportation. The only downside I can come up with about flying Allegiant is that our flight home leaves at 9:00 am. That means checking out super early and getting to the airport extra early. Oh, well.

See you are like me, I live about 40 minutes from our closest airport, Its supposed to be an "international" airport but all the flights need to transfer at either Detroit or Chicago, then go to Orlando. We just drive to Chicago and fly through there, for us it was cheaper than Allegiant to Sanford with rental car and stuff, Gonna Try Southwest this time :)

Allegiant has great fares out of our airport too. The issue I have is how to get from Sanford to WDW. It appears that the rate for a towncar is $200 roundtrip. Personaly, when you add this to the cost of plane tickets, I would rather just make the 8 hour drive. However, does anyone know a better way to get from Sanford to WDW?

And Rob, why is it you don't like the MD 80's, comfort or safety or other?

Well, it is "comforting" to hear that it is not safety primarily.

Thanks.
No prob. I just am not a fan of the 3-2/2-3 seating used by the DC9/MD80/B717 (all of which are an evolution of the same plane)

I always get a rental car. Allegiant has a deal with Alamo and the rates aren't too shabby.
